I have a plate that is about 90 yards from my back porch. From that point there's a steep rock bluff so I cant shoot any further. Some scattered trees but a clear shot to the plate. I put close to 80 rounds thru this mofo and it performed well. I attached an EO Tech Vudu (not shown). It's good quality scope, unique in being short in length. I thought it was a good pairing since this is fundamentally a short/medium range tactical weapon. Even though the 308 is more capable and predictable out to 800-1000 yards.
Kel-Tec refers to this as the 'hunter' model because it has a 24 inch barrel as opposed to the 18 inch. Hunting what is the question. This is clearly designed as an anti-personnel weapon, not really suited for hunting deer or whatever. Maybe hogs. I am tempted to see how it does in that situation.
It weighs about 9 lbs. , uses FAL mags. NATO/308. I shot a grab bag of 308 I had sitting around.
I zeroed the scope at 25 yards and after a couple of initial flyers I was consistently ringing the 10 inch gong on every shot. I haven't shot this gun in two years or more. I was happy with the results. I was hitting a bit high and left but there was some wind. Still good.
