No break-in woes with this very affordable 1911.

I ran out of paper plates but remembered I had a stack of these B29 targets laying around. This is one 1 of 2.
Distance: 15 yards, 25 rounds, semi-rapid fire, approximately 1-second intervals.

Celebrating a hassle-free break-in, the Tanker gets a new set of grips. Off with the standard checkered double diamonds. I would describe these grips as inexpensive designer knockoffs. There were pretty cheap. I bought them on Etsy and my expectations were low. I was delighted today upon opening the package. The quality is pretty decent. Zebrawood. Not in the same artisan league as those I posted for my Colt, but the quality is beyond the price. They'll do. I'm not inclined to put $300 grips on a $500 pistol.

On 1911's I prefer a smooth grip over cheese grater G10s. Not that I don't like G10s. I put those on 1911 match/race guns and 10mm. G10 looks cool and functionally has its strengths, but in the comfort department, wood prevails.
