How many rounds do you need (for self-defense)?

Not sure if Europe has anything figured out per se. Maybe in a large city setting a rapid response team works. Is "Europe" using these teams to protect the farmlands or just highly populated urban areas? Figuring the latter at best. And if some of the sheeple in the cities in Europe carried, maybe some of the potential crime could be kept in check. I won't model after anything Europe does, quite the opposite.
There is no perfect system when dealing with maintaining order. Order meaning a reasonable expectation of public safety - not authoritatively subjugating people.

There's very little crime in rural parts of Western Europe. Tac teams tend to be urban as you hinted. They are good. And effective. I witnessed this first hand.

When society in most European countries was more or less monolithic, violent crime was pretty low. Everybody spoke the same language, was born there, were mostly the same color and religion. Now it's a different story since they opened up their gates to so-called refugees. This is why politics are shifting right in that part of the world. I doubt that any country in Europe will relax or change their laws about firearms. And most of the citizens of those countries aren't asking for it to change. In that regard, their history and culture is very different from ours. As a side note, there are a lot of hunters in European countries. As we know handguns are highly regulated and are very rare with civilians. Interestingly, suppressors are generally unregulated and in some countries encouraged. Go figure.

Stereotypes about Americans among Europeans are just as common as what Americans think Europe is like. Neither is really true. The one thing Americans have in common with our European (and UK) contemporaries is everyone recognizes that our elected officials suck.

Anyone looking to point a bony finger at a government who is overly anti-American, corrupt, ineffective and tyrannical? Some say Russia, which would be partially correct. The top of that list is Mexico. We have gone to war with countries who have done far less harm to our way of life.

Even more importantly, even when or IF they (LE) show up, they have ZERO legal duty to save your ass. ZERO. They can legally stand there and watch a bad guy cut you to shreds, shoot you, or rape you... and do NOTHING.

And THAT'S why we're our own 1st responders.

As LEO you have the legal obligation to act. You can not just stand around with your dick in your hand. Thats what happened in Parkland.
You are not obligated to give your life, but you do not have the choice of nothing.

Nope. An LEO does NOT have ANY legal duty to act. ZERO. The notion that they do is a HUGE and widely-held misconception by the public, and we need to change that.

Incorrect. They can absolutely and legally do NOTHING. That's why NONE of the officers at Parkland or Uvalde got into any legal trouble. They might be fired. But they will not be found guilty of any crime. Nor will any of the associated law enforcement agencies be held liable.

The fact that LE (nor any gov't agency) has no legal duty to act has been decided FIVE times in federal court, two of which were Supreme Court decisions. Look'em up. I've had this conversation so many times, I can recite the cases from memory.

Warren vs DC
Barela vs City of Denver
Gonzales vs Castle Rock (SCOTUS)
DeShaney vs Winnebago County (SCOTUS)
Lozito vs NYPD

In the case of Lozito vs NYPD, two officers watched a murderous sociopath slice and dice Mr. Lozito on the train while watching (from behind the glass) a few feet away but safely ensconced in the conductor's cabin. They only came out to effect an arrest after a nearly-mortally wounded Lozito managed to pin his attacker down. The two officers watched the entire attack and did NOTHING to protect or save Mr. Lozito. Lozito sued and lost.

No US gov't agency or entity or officer has ANY legal duty to protect or act to save any citizen from harm. Again... ZERO legal duty to act at all.

Well Im not the public Im a/was a State Certified LEO in 2 states and I had a obligation to act.
1 of which was Florida.
Failure to act was a violation of oath with penalties ranging from termination to prosecution.
In fact in Georgia I was investigated 2x for this and had to justify my actions/ cleared of any/all charges.
I know BETTER!!
