I've told this story before. The medical insurance Obama said we could keep... was cancelled. Then our daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. When she started chemo, she was prescribed an anti-nausea medication. My wife dutifully went to the pharmacy to get it filled. The pharmacist asked, "Are you sure you want this filled?"
Of course!
Well.... it's $800 for the 30-day supply.
That's crazy. (and my wife decided to call the pediatric oncologist's office before proceeding).
The nurse spoke with my wife. She said they didn't realize we didn't have insurance for meds. So, instead of going to the pharmacy, the doctor's office could buy the medication directly and just charge my wife their cost. Great! I'll be right there!
When my wife arrived she got a 2-month supply from the nurse. Cost: $8. EIGHT BUCKS. For TWO months.
