Anybody make an all leather Polymer80 specific holster? Not a universal fit. I’ve tried 3 or 4 different kydex holsters and I just can’t do it. Have hybrids gotten any better? I had an Alien Gear for my 1911 about 10 years ago and I didn’t like it either. Looking for something similar to the TTGunleather I have for my 1911. Unfortunately they don’t do P80.

Nice Les Baer.

Glock holsters aren't working for you? Especially in hide... not as form-fitted as Kydex.

Im the opposite. Leather is too big, heavy and bulky for me as an EDC holster. I have both but prefer Kydex or polymer.

Here's a thread:

1791 has a moldable leather holster that has a formable inner material between the leather that allows you to form fit a holster to a particular gun. Not sure if it's Kydex or Boltoran inner or some other form of plastic. I have not used one of those, so can't vouch for the moldable version. I thought I recalled that Bongo maybe has had one of those, but I could be mistaken.

There are other threads I've seen off and on here if you do an advanced search option.

You have a good memory! I did buy one of those 1791 moldable holsters. I was very skeptical before trying it, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it turned out.

Here 'tis.

They have a bunch of other models and styles on their website. Best to go to their home page and start from there.
But here is the moldable version inside their website and the process used with instructional videos which looks pretty simple to do in hot water and a baggie.

I think @Racer88 has info on a hybrid verions he uses. Maybe he'll chime in.

Thanks, that’s my workhorse. However, now I live in FL and the worn blueing doesn’t take well to the humidity. On second thought maybe leather is not the answer. However, I do prefer comfort factor.

I've used a few hybrids. I find them comfortable. I've used Crossbreed, White Hat Holsters (no longer in business), and more recently - Vedder Holsters.

Left - White Hat | Right - Vedder

IWB or OWB? I assume OWB if you want one like in the pic.

Urban Carry has a leather holster that has some polymer innards that improve retention. LockLeather OWB Holster
They support all the P80 frames/guns.

Here ya go, perhaps a better link showing a visual overview of all the types of holsters in each category.

The first time I went to 1791 I had a hard time finding some things on their website. The more I dug, the more I found on their website. They have a bunch of different styles and models to choose from. Quite a lot actually. You just have to keep clicking down their rabbit hole.

That’s an IWB. TTGunleather Mike’s Special. I can lug that Baer around for 16 hours in comfort I prefer IWB for EDC. I saw the Urban Carry and was considering the Vedder Rapidtuck. Now I’ll check 1791. Decisions, decisions…..

Some of us just don't like the feel of plastic against our skin. I'm in the "it does not bother me at all" camp. I'm in shorts and t-shirts eight months out of the year so thin and light is my preference with EDC guns and holsters. When not wearing a belt, I sometimes go with the Crossbreed Modular Band, which is the best band I've found. The problem with bands is for those who don't have the bod they once had, it doesn't ride right across your middle. Anybody that's apple-shaped will likely struggle with a band.

Most of my holsters are Vedder kydex. No hybrids. Lately I have tried the Crossbreed Rogue and the Bravo Torsion. I like them both.

I JUST got this one in... haven't tried it, yet. From Blade-Tech. All kydex. Not sure if I'll like it.

Looks like injection molded vs Kydex. So much detail in the shape.

I was never a fan of injected polymer holsters like those Sig or Springfield used to include with a new gun. Or a Fobus. Bravo changed my opinion on injected molded holsters.

I’ve moved away from the taco style folded kydex types. Except for pocket J holsters.

Here's a shot of the Blade-Tech holster with my PFC9 in it:

I’ll 2nd 1791 for all leather. Nothing like the feel of natural leather. Their moldable selections will work for any sidearm.
The 1791 deerskin IWB… it’s like having Bambi in your pants. :)

It’s not rigid, so it’s not good for all applications. I have found it works well with small guns like the 380 and 9mm Rugers, G42/43, etc. Lately I like to carry my Kahr MK9 Elite in one of these . Fair Chase Deer Hide Holster - 1791 Gunleather
