This GG3 looks like a good option to the 3d printed stuff. Has anyone used one of these? I am suffering from multiple broken 3D printed frames and would like to move on to metal frames. The last stupid question: Is there a better option than the GG3?

I've briefly looked into it. But not enough to really offer any qualified opinions.

I agree that 3D milling seems like the way to go vs printing, especially in terms of strength / durability.

But from what I know, to mill a frame from a solid block, in most (all?) cases, it has to be a 2-piece affair that would be screwed together.

RIA STK100. I had forgotten that I purchased it as a whole gun. Got if for like $250 delivered. That's hard to beat. It is literally the only complete gun I have purchased in the last 20 years and I just might get another. The companies that sell the metal Glock frames are very proud of their frames. If they weren't so darn expensive, I'd build one but it's cheaper to buy one and change to your liking.

The metal frame Glock clones I've seen were quite expensive. MUCH more than a factory Glock. Double and triple the price.

These guys/gals do anodizing for me. I believe they are/were a Class3 FFL so would be able to receive serialized parts to be anodized. They were doing a very brisk biz selling 80% AR kits on GB until GB stopped allowing 80% receivers to be sold there.

Note they are at the same location...

I have 1. I like it. You can get them almost new for about 1500 with a Plethora of jigs. Check out the page on Facebook. I see them there all the time.

What's up with your 3d frames? I've printed about 100 frames, and never felt comfortable enuf with the way they looked to actually build one, until recently.

I picked up the Bambu labs X1 and it's a game changer. Literally pick what you want to print, and it automatically configured everything. I used to have issues leveling the build plate, but this thing self levels. It also automatically runs a 1st layer check to make sure everything is good before it continues.

My issue with printing frames was they looked like printed frames. I've found a guy on Odysee who has some really cool designs. I'm currently building a 9mm, and a g40, and 41, which is basically the 10mm and the 45 both long slides.

I'll pop up some pics over the weekend if anyone is interested. Feel free to hit me up with any questions you may have about the GG3.

Frame guy on Odysee is unseenkiller. I've spoken to him quite a bit, really good guy. I'm currently printing my frames with Pla-cf. I was using Nylon, but when I put the frames to failure, there wasn't much difference, and the pla-cf is easier to use, and looks cleaner.

Also check out 2apartspicker....these guys built an aluminum jig the you can print all frames on.,with the GG3 you will need to basically 3d print a different jig for each different frame you mill.

We have a Bambu and are looking into the GG3. Has anyone built the Glock rail system similar to the Sig system on the GG#. It sure looks like a game changer. With a Bambu to print the Outside and the GG# to print a metal rail system inside, it sound like a bunch of problems would be avoided.

Yea. There is 1 for the glock style frame that you 3d print, then you mill out the rest from a solid chunck of aluminum. It's like the FCU on the sig. They have one for the AR as well. It's actually 3 pieces.

You need to order the aluminum clamps if your interested in going that way. They are about $300. You can use them to cut slides as well. They have all the cut codes for any type of red dot you want, and they have just about any type of design you can think of to cut all the details into your slide.

GG3 sells them direct, as does 2apartspicker....long wait time for those. They are always sold out.
