We should applaud any USA manufacturer and try to buy from them. I just have a hard time believing that these are actually made here. We don't make any of the electronics here that I know of. Maybe the raw materials for the frame/body are sourced here. Assembled from made in China parts might be closer to actuality.

That said, why copy and start where these were 5 years ago? Steal the current chinese efforts and work up from there. They stole it years ago, return the favor.

Red only. I don't care. I like green too. Green is better when you are outside or brightly lit areas. Pros generally choose red in dark scenarios.

Who makes the parts? Could be China, could be Japan or Philippines. Like half the parts in American cars and trucks.

Buy direct, can't beat the warranty as stated.

I prefer Trijicon and Leupold myself but this is a lower cost option that doesnt go straight into the defense budget of the CCP.

I don't put expensive glass on a cheap gun. These optics look a lot like the HEX that Springfield often includes on their handguns. I suspect they may be the OEM for SA's HEX red dots, I have had a couple of those for 3+ years now and they work just fine. No problems with durability, holding zero, battery life, etc. I shoot those guns a lot and dont baby them.

The electronics are pretty simple in a reflex optic. There's nothing magical about the glass for the lens (or a plastic lens).

Laser diodes... ? Surprisingly, most of those are made in the USA, Japan, or Germany.

I've got a couple of Aimpoints (on rifles). They're "awfully proud" of those! They ain't cheap!

Most of these companies make top tier, made tier and economy scopes. They are all pretty good. Even this at the lower price point. Many economy scopes today are better than high end scopes from 20-30 years ago.

I also like Sig. The BDX scopes paired with their Kilo rangefinder are awesome.

Cosmic Tactical does not do themselves any favors. Is their scope a prism scope or just round lenses like a tube scope. I read every page on the site and there is no description. No mentions in youtube videos I watched. The short eye relief and weight suggests it's a prism but why not just state it?

It took several looks to find a picture showing that the reflex sight has different displays. The main page only says 3MOA dot.

As with many products of chinese origin on Amazon, you have to look at pictures to get an idea of what something can do. The included documentation is useless and written in english that doesn't make sense. The descriptions, features and specifications are at best a 1st grade creative writing exercise.

Cosmic Tactical has a very Amazon chinese style of writing in their descriptions is all I'm saying and it sets off alarms in my mind.

Flim flam by a Chinese company? I suppose it's possible. It's hard to overlook designed and assembled in USA though. That's not the least bit vague. If that statement were discovered to be false, sales would probably tank. It wouldn't be very smart to lie about that. Then again, fakery and lies are not impossible. Like how Holosun stole Triijicon technology and infringed on their patents. And got caught. They had to pay up or their imports would be banned from the US market.

The principals of Cosmic Tactical have hispanic names. They own other companies unrelated to tactical gear.

The ACOG-like fiber illuminator suggests to me it's a prism scope. Like the Trij. Simple design, but that makes it rugged. I'd pick the Trijicon if I were jumping out of aircraft, a frogman doing underwater insertion or traversing a desert or rocky terrain in some faraway shit hole. But for civilian use, their prism seems to be OK for the price - according to reviews anyway. Perhaps on par with the Swampfox which is not terrible but is 100% ChiCom. For the average civilian schlub, Cosmic seems to deliver reasonable value. Trustpilot reviews, which are verified and harder to fake than social media 'endorsements', are overall positive. You can get cheaper, but then you are delving into the paintballl/airsoft realm.

Also... SATURN™ 4x32 Tactical Scope (2.0). They declare it a prism scope in the description.

Personally, my current fav in the small tactical scope world is the EOtech VUDU. Ultra-Short. Street price is 7-800 bucks without the reflex piggyback. A better scope for a carbine a millionaires money cant buy.

A prism ocular lens will usually not line up axially with the objective lens. The mirror will usually have an etched reticle backlit (or whatever) to make it a "red dot". And as you noted, eye relief is small. Nothing wrong with prisms for the budget shooter, IMO...

Short range, urban setting. It's well suited. Also needs to be super rugged to hold up in the concrete jungle.

I might buy one of these just to see if I can break it. The Trij ACOG is famous for taking a beating.
