The comments below are from a video on the Guns & Gadgets Channel concerning P80's settlement of Baltimore's suit against P80.
To gather more context about the comments below, I would suggest going to the original video (link below) and reading some of the comments. P80 is/was taking a beating.
I will put the video link in another post below so that the PGB forum software doesn't truncate and "clip" the comments in the thread below.

I sent G&G a PM, haven't heard back. There is a TON of misinformation on this. I need to say something because this is getting out of hand. I am Loran Kelley, founder and CEO of Polymer80 and here's the FACTS

The press release from Maryland is exaggerated a bit and leaves out crucial details, also the settlement did not gain them hardly anything.

Some factors:

NO P80 would NOT have won. Despite the fact that P80 was and is right that would not matter in the face of a very liberal judge who was basically ready to rule against P80. If P80 took this to trial, there would have been very, very little chance of winning. You have to understand that these anti-gun lobbies choose their venues very very carefully. The Mayor of Baltimore wasn't smart enough on his own for this, he had help.

Second, P80 is NOT a huge company, we have 17 employees and have been completely decimated in our lawsuits, particularly our two victories in federal court that are now sitting the Supreme court. Until that is resolved, P80 cannot sell its' primary product due to the Frame and Receiver Rule. As a result of that our revenue is SEVERELY less than normal. Thus, P80s resources have been drained.

Third, "👻guns" were ALREADY banned from Maryland in 2022. We gave up nothing on that, it was already the law.

Fourth, the so-called "sales records" is a fallacious claim on their press release. We have to give them numbers of units sold in those areas, not ACTUAL sales records.

Finally, what they were pushing for and what they almost certainly would have gotten if we did not stop them with a settlement agreement:

They wanted 60 million dollars... yeah... like P80 has that. They wanted to ban ALL SALES in the surrounding states, not just restrict them from selling to Maryland residents and most importantly they wanted ALL CUSTOMER DATA for ALL SALES from P80.

My personal policy is at the end of the day I will NEVER give blanket customer data to the government EVER. We were headed into a vortex where Maryland was going actually set a precedent that would have been completely disastrous across the board. We stopped them from getting your data, we gave them a capitulation to not sell in Maryland which was already the case since 2022 because of their state laws. We have new wording for dealers in the surrounding states that yes they need to look at an id before selling at a physical point of sale like a gun show. That data is not recorded or retained in any way. If you cannot see that's not really a problem then I cannot help you.

This settlement was over months and months of P80 basically telling Baltimore to f*ck off. But we were about to go to court with no money, and very liberal judge in a very liberal district eager to take all of it (and I'm not talking about just money here).

So hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and a 1.2 million dollar penalty were to price to pay to protect all of your data. The Precedent we set was this; fine us all you want, you NEVER GETTING our customer information. I truly hope that sheds some light on this.

Have you considered a donations page to aid in these lawsuits, or reached out to FPC or GOA, by any chance? I'm sure you probably have, just inquiring as to what the outcome was.

I feel a little better after reading your account, but I’m still pissed about government’s bullying legal, law abiding businesses and citizens.

@DaLobsta76 Yes, the FPC is carrying the water now in the SCOTUC case for us, which is the most important one. However all the money to fight this would not have stopped the outcome. Take a look at Trumps civil judgement earlier this year... its so obvious that woman was nuts but these are politically motivated cases not fact motivated. It sucks

@jonathanwelter Oh I agree man.

@lorankelley9407 @lorankelley9407 3 hours ago

@DaLobsta76 You have to understand GOA and FPC are also operating on finite budgets. We need to get those organizations to the size and power of the NRA at its height. Please support them
