Why are politicians and the media saying, "It was an M-4, not an AR-15???"

Of course, they are wrong. It wasn't an M-4.

But I do not think it's innocent. They are moving the disinformation goalposts to obfuscate while alarming the muggles (public). The narrative is that "nobody need MILITARY rifles." And since it's become more common knowledge that the AR-15 isn't a military rifle... Let's call it something else.... the M-4 is a military rifle.... Let's call it that! That should ring the alarm bells 'real good!' The average muggle doesn't even know what an M-4 is, so they'll just believe us!

Because they repeat each others bullshit and don't check facts. That's my read on this.

Somebody involved, directly or indirectly, called it an M4 and it simply got repeated. Probably a NYC cop.

If this were part of a coordinated agenda, they would have gone with 'assault rifle'. That's their perfect boogeyman term. Because it applies in their minds to all semi-auto rifles that have a magazine.

I dont give them that much credit. Most gun hating reporters are stooges for liberal leaders and rich anti-gun advocates like Bloomberg. They wouldn't know an M4 from a cats ass.

I think you missed my point. I'm not suggesting, in ANY way, that they don't know an M4 from a cat's ass. I'm suggesting that they DO know. Some of them do, and they leverage the ignorance of the rest of the media (who will just regurgitate as you said) and the ignorance of the public. It's a NEW bogeyman. Move the goalposts when people start catching on to the AR-15 fallacy.

I'm suggesting that the ORIGIN of the new "M4" narrative DOES know and dropped that match into the open barrel of gasoline.

Watch... you're going to see and hear that term "M4" a lot more. That's my prediction.

I predict the next gun the bubble headed bleach blondes and finocchio's on the news mention will be an M15. :)
 
I had a co-worker who was a brunette when she was an intern, and for a few years after we hired her full time.

At some point after she was tranferred to our group she dyed her hair blonde, so from that point on when I was referring to her I just said "The bubble headed bleached blonde" says....
