And since she came up in conversation, here is another entry for "What movie is this scene from?" :)

America's Tobacco & Firearm Stores

This should be part of Trump's reorganization plan to pay back the debt.

Musk wanted a role addressing money issues, so have Elon reorganize the ATF into the America's Tobacco & Firearms Stores. A national convenience store chain with all purchases free of sales tax and other corporate taxes. Net profit pays directly to the debt and nothing else. Throw in some gas pumps (sorry Elon) and locate the stores adjacent to casinos. PR, advertisements, and public service announcements about the chain posted to Twitter/X.

Simultaneously, Trump can fire 95% of Fed workers and the debt would disappear by 2028. It's a very simple plan with simple priorities, and if they wanted to get rid of the debt they could.

People would line up for purchases and I would start drinking again.

I get your point but I always considered alcohol and gunpowder to be a dangerous combination, just sayin.

I made this meme back in 2018.

Some here may remember we bought our Marine son an AR-15 for Christmas.

He scoffs at the progressive liberal anti-gun notion that the AR-15 is a "military grade" weapon.

"That's an insult to the AR-15, which is FAR better than any M-16 I've fired in the Corps."

"MIL-SPEC" is not what civilians think it is :ROFLMAO:

No manufacturer in the world would exceed the minimum to be "MIL-SPEC"
At least after winning the contract :ROFLMAO: or if it cost nothing to them.

Peeps throw around the phrase "mil-spec" because it makes them sound cool and knowledgeable.
In most cases, the specification is necessary to meet performance, longevity, and corrosion resistance goals. But technology advances, and yesterday's mil-spec may have been cutting edge, but there is something better available today. But unless the spec is revised and updated, which is an expensive and involved process, things tend to stay the same unless the benefits are profound, or someone high enough up in the food chain decides it's needed.
I'm told the Product Improvement Program documentation for the M16 family of weapons is many, many inches thick. The M4's issued today have had lots of upgrades and improvements made since the M16 your grandfather carried in Vietnam.

The Carpenter 158 vs. 9310 steel used in M16 bolts is a good example. C158 is the mil-spec that dates to the 60's. At the time, it was the best available material for the bolt. Today, the progress in metallurgy and heat treatment has made 9310 superior, but not by a huge degree, so the status quo remains. But gun store experts will crow that C158 is the magic metal for bolts because it is mil-spec.

The list goes on, but if you think of mil-spec as a minimum when selecting components, life will be better.
