All I’m gunna say is …..cheaters :outta here:
Oh you have no idea :) :) :)

I let a shooting buddy shoot one of my most tricked out P80's

He laughed and asked what gun was underneath the "P80 paint job" because it didn't feel or shoot like any glock clone he had ever seen before (in a good way).

I told him the inner workings contained parts of unicorns :D It would forever be a mystery.

I am a bad human, I know, I am amused at people with $6000 plus pistols that can't outshoot a P80 :D

Poor marksmanship is rarely the gun. I once made a bet with a range douche that I my Yeet Cannon was better than his $4000 1911. His ego allowed him to take that bait. Having the money to buy a Gulfstream doesnt mean you know how to fly it. :)

Poor marksmanship is rarely the gun

I am not trying to say that others are poor marksman, but I see how my post may have read that way.

Let me describe it differently, I think that my regular shooting buddies are on par with me skill wise. We shoot at about the same level. I have one buddy that thought a super expensive custom 2011 would give him an edge over the rest of us and would mean he would always win.

Super light trigger, butter smooth action, low recoil, gun tolerances built extremely tight, you would think would give a reasonably ok shooter an edge over say someone with similar skills shooting a Glock. It doesn't seem to work out that way in real life.

I am going to guess a professional shooter, shooting against other professionals, takes that slight equipment edge and wins with it because they are at the skill level where a slight edge in equipment can mean winning or losing. At non-professional skill level, but still decent shooters, that edge just doesn't get pushed to where it matters. The cheaper equipment is 'good enough'

I can't outshoot a Glock in any way shape or form, until I do, I am not worried about buying a custom 2011

Agree the gun is rarely ever the reason someone can't improve their marksmanship. Most guns are better than you are.

I challenged a blowhard at my former range who was shooting a very expensive 1911 and making jokes about other people's guns. I challenged him to a quick match, his $4-5000 hand fitted 1911 versus my $200 Yeet Cannon best of five shots at 15 yards. Or maybe it was 25. I can't remember. It wasn't even close.

Like I have said before, you can buy a $10,000 set of golf clubs but you will still suck if you don't master the fundamentals.

I suppose there are other parallels. NASCAR. The cars are strikingly similar - by regulation. Winning is mostly about the driver.

I've spent some time on the track. A good driver in a Mazda Miata will run CIRCLES around an unskilled driver in a Corvette or Porsche.
