The House passed the budget with the HPA!

What I read was as it stands now- Jan 01,2026 Suppressors, AOW & SBR will be just like regular Firearm purchase. Possibly same paperwork/fingerprints etc for Suppressor.
All subject to change pending lawsuits and whatever.
Am I missing something? That sounds like the current process. Fill out the form, get printed, wait for the approval, get your suppressor or SBR except now you won't have to pay the $200.

And I agree with shooting steel--if only we could make the impacts quieter... :p
I love the sound of ringing steel, it might be worth trying again with ear protection. I tend to shoot this match much faster than the action pistol matches so I do miss more than usual and the audible feedback would be a better way to check my work than looking for the tiny 22 marks on each target. We do 5 strings so after the first couple it is hard to figure out which plates need another shot before shooting the red stop plate.

I have not tried shooting the 15-22 pistol suppressed in a loooong time. Maybe I will shoot this setup next time, cheek pistol method, with earmuffs.

Anyone have a link to the GOA letter that supported the $0 tax that lots are up in arms about or
cliff notes on it? If we can get this threw court in the next couple of years we all should be happy,

I don't think they ever supported the $0 version of the bill. They supported the original version from the House that took SBRs and Suppressors out of the NFA.

They have however noted that a $0 tax would make it easier to get them out of the NFA because the NFA has been held Constitutional because it was a tax. No tax equals Unconstitutional.

“NFA has been held Constitutional because it was a tax. No tax equals Unconstitutional.

I think this holds water.

Bah... they'll find another legal way to weasel out of upholding the Constitution.

My prediction: The NFA is never going away, and all the items on the list will remain on the list.
