Arrived yesterday. Put a box of range ammo thru it this am. Tisas is really raising the bar for affordable 1911s. It's all 70 Series parts inside so if you get the itch to upgrade the guts with premium parts, they will fit. Honestly, I see no reason to upgrade anything on this pistol. The slide fits like a much more expensive gun and it ran without issue right out of the box. I lubed it because I like to run new 1911's wet. I won't clean it until I have over 500 rounds thru it. That's been my ritual with 1911's for a long time, regardless of the price of the gun.

This 4.5 inch 1911 is every bit as good as a Kimber costing almost three times as much. And far more reliable. The gun, shipping and transfer fee combined was $580.

TISA blew my mind when I got 1. Its amazing what you get for a 1/3rd of others. Actually TISA, Girsan, SDS and Taurus all have really good offerings.

I think the TISA finish has held up better than some of my high dallor 1s.

Enjoy

I hate to admit it but Taurus has made some progress. There are two companies I will not buy from. Kimber and Taurus. Under the new management, Taurus has done some good things lately. Sometimes I can be forgiving.

Kimber is headed for the scrap heap of 1911 gunmakers like Para. Started out great - and then quality went in the shitter.

When I entered my bid for the Stingray, I also entered a very low bid for a Tisas Tanker, not expecting to win. Guess what happened. I practically stole it, but now I need to go on a gun diet. I've blown my budget.
