I just finished my Polymer 80 G19 and was very happy with the drilling (used a dremel press for the pins) also dyed from grey to black.
I have 2 - problems with the build though and need to ask my fellow memebers of the group.....

#1) I cannot get the slide to "rack" all the way back,,, it will go within say 1/2" to 3/4" of an inch from the end near the rear rails and will NOT budge,,,,

#2) When I put together the trigger assembly and inserted to the frame, it just also has NO wiggle room... it is really a tight fit
On my G17, I could manually cock the pistol (without" the frame on it and pull the trigger)
I Don't Know if this can be done on a G19 ?

Thank you guys so much and for all you do and answer in the forum,

D

First off. Take some pictures. Need an picture of the top of the frame ! What trigger is used ??? Need model number. What RSA ?? Is the trigger bar rubbing the frame ? Are there any obstructions ??

Or is the trigger bar rubbing the slide?

Is the slide lock installed in the correct orientation?

I had a similar issue with the barrel getting hung up on the locking block. I had to gently file and polish the locking block and the barrel on the breech end a tiny bit to make that go away. I dont know if the barrel was out of tolerance or the front rail/locking block - but it worked.

You are 100% correct....
I started taking out the barrel and recoil spring, still hanging up,
Next I installed the armorers block, could NOT see anything obstructed or hanging up....
I perused Google and read many articles,,, one of them said it could be the "slide lock spring" sticking up "too far"...
"Exacto Mundo"
I then went through a couple of hours of push, pull, install, remove, walk away, come back, curse, beat the pins out and back in, try again, lol
I also replaced the trigger assembly with one I had which made it manually "cock" and fire much easier (I ordered a new trigger kit)

A couple of times when I racked the pistol, the slide lock "FELL OUT" of the pistol.... :O
I ended up taking the slide bar spring (on mine it's a little bent bar) put a bigger bend on it and retried,, after a couple of tries I FINALLY got it to rack all the way back, fire, rack back, fire, etc, etc,,,

It was definitely the slide lock spring NOT seated enough and also not having "enough bend" in it to make the slide lock stay in the frame.

Thank you to everyone, MikeDaddyH, Racer88 and Bongo Lewi.

For pf940c (g19) Slide lock spring needs to be snipped to get it to seat down properly. See- MGB pro frame assembly FF to 35:18 to watch it. Other issues that may contribute to the issues you describe =. Channel not fully cleared, rear rail not seated all the way down, front/back rails not level. Photos are a huge help in diagnosis.

On a PF940SC frame I built about 2yrs ago (and just now completed with a slide ;) ) I borrowed a slide assy from my G26 to "test" fit and function. I determined the locking block was too tall in the circled location. I removed a little at a time until the slide was able to manually cycle. I was NOT going to remove any metal from the barrel/slide as it functioned fine on the G26 and is "like new" with low round count. P80 was kind enough to send me a new block under warranty which I put into inventory.

I'll post about the belated, recent "build" of the 940 Second Chance elsewhere... :)

Thank you,, It really nailed the problem on the head.

Glad you got it worked out. Persistence pays off.

When I'm having a problem with something mechanical, I often set it down and walk away for a while. Come back to it later. Frustration sets in quickly with most people. It's helpful to clear your head and try again later.

Thank you Bobster,,, this 19 was the hardest or "most tricky" to build of the 17, 26 and now 19 that I have.
The G17 was the simplest and my first, the 26...well, I made a paperweight out of the first frame trying to use a "jig" and rushing into it....
I followed Racer88 and MGB's advice and took my time,,, the 26 came out alright as well.

I bought a Dremel drill press stand and followed MGB on perfect pins to a "T" on this G19 build....
I knew it wasn't the pins or something out of "plumb" or specs but couldn't see it......
I had to get up and Literally "walk away"just to clear my head and re-think what could be causing it..... lol
