Yuge! Vets- get rated for all your disabilities

I got my claims filed and a few appointments soon, so I am getting excited :)
The first appontments are for increases of currently rated knees and back, so that should go OK.
We filed for 4 secondary conditions and one new one.

I just had my ear / hearing exam this past Thursday. It was fairly quick. I'm not so sure or confident on how it went, honestly. But I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Great news ! Good luck, go get em

Look at the DBQ’s for your conditions. It’s like looking at the test before your exam, be prepared with all the answers. 😊

Here’s more answers to the test questions. CFR 38 chapter I part 4. The “book of rules “ for every VA disability. Use the table of contents look up your condition scroll down to find body part. It shows range of motion tests Dr will perform and disability % = to range. For example- sec 4.71a under The Spine. ‘Forward flexion of the cervical spine 15 degrees or less……” is 30%. Scroll down til u see range of motion testing.

I like this guy. Look for vids on your claims. He offers good insight

VetComm likes this guy, I find him too wordy but still good info. Again look for info pertaining 2 U

I attended a C&P Live call today - the guy was a schmuck.
Kate in her exam prep video says things like "when you park in the examinner's parking lot don't jump out of your vshicle and run to the door if you are claiming knee and back pain"

He's telling me to take an uber. Yeah, good luck finding one in rural Montana. I'm 12 miles out of town for this appoingment, and 80 miles from the next one.

Even if I convinced the examiner that the pain is so bad that I cannot drive how would I explain how I manage to get groceries? We have 4 grocery stores, so the odds of running into the examiner in one of them are not really low.

I'm going to try a call again on Wednesday.

What is C&P?

They tell you what the examiner is looking for. Just like Kate's videos
I attended a video conference call to "coach" vets before they go for their medical exams. 98% of it didn't apply to me, and I had to wait until the end to get to the info about hearing exams. The first half hour was all about PTSD. Then a lot of time on the orthopedic stuff. None of that applied to me. But I sat through it all to check the box and do my part.

OK... I still have no clue what that is. What is a Compensation and Pension call?
C&P is the Dr. exam you will go to. You will be going into a Dr. office. Some C&P can be done by video or phone call. Most exams should be done in the exam room so the Dr. can preform the range of motion or other tests required by the DBQ that will be filled out and returned to the VA adjudicator.

I already went to see the doctor for my hearing exam. I just thought it's called a "doctor's exam."

"Compensation and Pension call" sounds more like something an accountant or the payroll department does... not a doctor. :)

Once you get your C&P done and the Doc sends the DBQ back to the VA. He’s not going to care about you and may not even remember you. C&P your simply a number. Once the paperwork is gone you’re good to go. Check the status of your claim at VA.gov. It’ll show if the DBQ has been sent to VA. Normally within 1 week after your exam. Get your groceries before C&P them watch for the letter in your file.

What ! An Lt USN doesn’t do what ? 😂😂
I left all that information in your message area , I thought

DBQ It’s the answers to the test. - it’s the document the Dr. fills out. Read it and be prepared with the answers to all the questions he’ll ask.

Nope, the VA web site got a remodel- try more. I had to send pix of ID and fill out online protection info again. If it doesn’t work today try tomorrow.
It's not the VA site. It's the ID.me, which is a 3rd party identity verification service that is used for logins. I had to submit a support ticket to ID.me.
