What 9mm ammo do you like for your builds? And what do you avoid?

Winchester Ranger is what a lot of Law Enforcement Officers have in their guns.
That's good ammo. I've got some Ranger in my stash. Ironic that it's almost identical to black talons, which back in the day were branded as cop killer ammo and thus voluntarily taken off the market. A lot of people think it was banned, but it wasn't. Just bad PR.

I dont have any concerns with the mainstream hollow points. I did discover that the copper and composite solids shoot thru auto glass and dont deform or deflect as much when you do. The reason that mattered to me was the line of work I was in. Solid are lighter and faster, but they can also over penetrate, so you have to take the pros and the cons into consideration. Like the right gun for the right job, same goes for ammo.

Ditto on not going overboard and getting into some of the more wacky defensive rounds. You may get unlucky and be facing a liberal DA who aspires to be Governor and hates guns.

"Black Talon" was replaced with Ranger SXT. "SXT" was rumored to mean "same exact thing" (minus the black coating.

The Ranger T-series is similar and considered equivalent to "Black Talon."

I've got some of both. :)

Should I get rid of my "FAFO-DRT-Zombie-Killer exploding bullets?" ;)

Sig has been pretty consistent quality for me. But discounts are rare.
This is the only place I have seen any discounts but selection varies. I have gotten their 10mm Elite Ball ammo, it all went bang and I could not find any blemish with em.
