As a kid I had a slingshot with ball bearings, upgraded to a "wrist-rocket" slingshot.
I had a Crossman 22 caliber pellet gun and later had a fiberglass long bow.
My first "real" gun was a rifle, a Savage 22lr bolt action.
Soon after a Remington Nylon 66 rifle and my first pistol was an original Colt model 1911 .45, serial number around 14,000
(Sold it when I was 22, found it 30 years later in a pawn shop all rusted and pitted to hell...uggghhhhh)

In order:

Wrist Rocket
Crossman 760
Crossman pellet pistol

My uncle taught me pheasant and waterfowl hunting. The guns were his. He trained me on a 28 ga and later a 20 and 12 ga. Remington, Winchester and Monkey Wards. The guns stayed at his home. My parents were not gun people nor did they hunt.

On a very rare occasion as a teen I shot a 1911 and a 357 revolver that also belonged to my uncle. Also under his supervision.

My first handgun was a Colt 1911 that came to me under some strange and unusual circumstances. After signing up to keep America safe, I was issued a Beretta 92/M9. I occasionally carried a P229 because it was more discreet than the M9.

After that it was always the right gun for the right job kind of thing. I learned to shoot them all. Rifles, subguns, carbines, various other pistols and revolvers. Including select fire/full auto.

We made our own slingshots the old fashioned way.... find a good branch and get after it with a pocket knife. Cut up an old shoe for the leather pad / pouch. And there was a local store that sold big red rubber bands.

Then a BB / pellet gun.

Then a single-shot 12-ga shotgun.

First pistol was a Gen 2 Glock 19. Still have it.

I saved up money from collecting aluminum cans and bought a Red Rider BB gun. Dad took me down to Best (anyone remember those stores?) to buy it. He was so proud of me for buying it with my own money. That was the beginning of a lifelong gun addiction.

First 22 was a Remington 552 BDL.
First pistol was a Colt Gold Cup (still have it)
The addiction spread from there...

And you didnt shoot your eye out!

Wasn't allowed to have a bb gun as a kid so I guess it was '73 when our Uncle Sam issued me an M-16. A few months later, he gave me an M-60.

After my discharge, my step-father gave me his Winchester 94 in .30-30 so I could go deer hunting. That rifle took a lot of deer over the years I hunted.

I remember somehow acquiring a lever action pump BB gun as a 7 y/o that got lost shortly thereafter in the multiple moves in the second grade when my parent's split. After that, the very first actual firearm I owned, actually two, both bought for self protection just after leaving active duty and back in college in downtown Atlanta; a PT92AF M9 clone and a Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun (all I could afford while paying out-of-state tuition). I still have both and they've run flawlessly for almost 40 years. Since college and finances improved, several more pistols, rifles, and shotguns have been added to the personal armory!

I had a (probably Daisy) bb gun which I kept into high school.
I remember one time I was with a friend, and he was trying to hit something with it.
I took it, said "My dad (former Expert level Marine) says to just point and shoot" and flipped the thing about level with my hip, pulled the trigger and hit the target.

My friend wanted me to do it again, but I remembered something else my dad said so I told him "I showed you once, That's enough"

My first real firearm was a Ruger Security Six, Stainless Steel, 2.5" barrel. I will replace that one some day.
