WTF is up with American car design?!??

Gootoob used to host such videos... It is good to know they are censoring them now... (I think--I didn't watch any...)

Maybe your wife could help? :D
I dont think she would be interested. Maybe my urologist?

No need to push any boundaries or explore new things. Squeaky clean and dry is enough for me.

No skid marks on the tighty whiteys is an added bonus.

You can bleach that thang all day, and it doesn’t change what comes out of the Death Star.

You guys crack me up.
In a thread about shitty cars, you end up talking about bleaching assholes.

I am Cornholio! You will cooperate with my bunghole. For there is but one bunghole. The almighty bunghole.

While my Subaru is in the body shop (due to being rear-ended a week ago), I have a rental car. It's a Buick Envision. What a piece of shit. It's very similar to my Outback in terms of size, utility, and even price (I looked it up).

But holy shit... ergonomics suuuuuuuck. The engine and transmission... suuuuuuuuck.

This is my view of the dashboard in the Buick Envision. And that's with the steering wheel ALL the way up. I'm about 5'8". How does this shit make it through development with the American car companies?!??

I can't read the Speedo past 55 mph. And the digital speedo reading (center) is obscured completely. I have to move my head down to see them! Did the engineers and design team ever sit in this car? It doesn't matter which way I move the adjustable steering wheel.... it will obscure part of the speedo / tach.

WOW... what a difference. Night and day.... in terms of the build quality... and especially the DRIVE quality. Subaru wins by miles and miles.

For comparison... My view in the Subaru:

Back on track. The seat should lower to see the gauges better. It's a button on the side of the seat. Shaped like a seat bottom.

I've had cars that use some system from the Stone Age to adjust the seat height. One, you had to raise the lever to lower the seat and push the lever to raise the seat.

I am confident that my seat cushion doesn't smell like ass because I know the gasket and o-ring are fresh and dry. Back off track just like that.

Ummm.... yeah... I know how to adjust a car seat. :sneaky:

If I adjust the car seat low enough to see all of the gauges, I'd be driving "gangsta" style. My shoulders would be even with the door window sill. I'm of average height... 5'8". I wouldn't be able to see over the hood. I'd have to be VERY low. Not good. My seat is where it should be. It's a design problem with the car, BELIEVE ME. I know cars. I'm a life-long dyed-in-the-wool car guy who has done serious "wrenching" on cars in the past. I've raced on the track. I know how cars work.

Yes... the steering wheel is also adjustable. But moving it through its entire range still covers part of the dash / gauges. Again... this ain't my first rodeo.

Now that I've had a few days with the car, I can better review the ergos and the ride. Holy crap, it sucks. It drives and feels like a TRUCK. Bumps and irregularities in the road surface hit hard. The suspension suuuuuuuuucks. I cannot imagine anyone who has test-driven a Japanese equivalent SUV would go back and buy the Buick. It's really a piece of shit.

The ONE thing that is better is the back-up camera display. :)

It's always interesting to drive rental cars for comparison. Fortunately, I should have my car back tomorrow or the next day.

I was teasing. I'm sure you know your way around the controls. Buicks are designed for soccer moms. Real men drive pick up trucks.

Did it have the 360 surround video display? I used to think people should just look over their shoulder. Now at 60 with various injuries from living life, it ain't easy looking around.

No. But I've been in cars that do. I have to say that is a very cool feature.

My Subie Outback has a rear AND a FRONT camera. But not 360-degree overhead view.

Overhead 360 view ranks just behind a washed and dried tush in my world.

Somebody has to re-derail this thread.

Coming soon... bidet with 360-degree camera and monitor.... and AI targeting of "cling-ons."

That gets me as excited as Greta moves Bongo Lewi. Just to be clear, I don't need the video, I'm good with trusting the AI guided camera to do its job.

What about an AI override with a game-boy style controller and VR goggles?
