Your favorite Glock connector and why?

Simple question. I'm about to leap over to the minus (-) connector pool from the "dot" connectors on our SC's and others. There is a spongy aspect I'm just not liking with these DOT connectors that doesn't seem to get better with wear-in.

Oh and Aftermkt or OEM? There are no wrong answers here, I just would value your input. Thanks!
 
I like the stock Glock OEM connector best. I do have a 3.5lb ZEV on one of my range guns and it is smooth but a little light for my liking. Great for a "fun" range gun, but lighter than I'd want on a carry or home defense gun. I've also tried the Glock 8lb and thought is was a little too "crisp".

I haven't swapped striker springs in any of these cases so it is possible that'd change the experience too?
 
Can someone refresh my memory on what is what with Glock connectors... "dot" vs "-" vs standard.

So far I've tried Overwatch Precision, Apex Tactical and Ghost and i prefer the Apex Tactical. Had great luck with them in first two builds. For information sake, I am using the std weight striker spring.

Std OEM is connector is 5.5lbs
Minus (-) connector 4.5 lbs
Dot (.) connector 5 lbs.

Each supposedly has some differing attributes on the trigger feel and break. Imo it's more than just that, but other springs and such.
 
Just to throw this out there….looking to upgrade to a 6 pound trigger spring as well. I’m reading it lightens the pull a bit, but also gives you very sound and snappy reset.
 
I'm sure I'll be the oddball here, but I've had great results with the Wilson Combat connector with a 6 lb. trigger spring. It's been my experience that anything Bill Wilson puts his name on is of outstanding quality.

Thank you. I was just looking at both those parts last night at their website.

BTW, I had Wilson's 1911 magazines and a few other things. Great stuff.

I thought about installed oem 34/35 parts to make it lighter over all but I'm debating going with a entire johnny glock trigger or timney. I may end up with both to see which I like which will cost a good bit. I doubt either will make it into my carry guns.

I run almost all dot connectors. All my pulls are crisp so far. However, I stone, tune, and polish all my sear faces and birds heads for a better more consistant interface.
Actually (-) connectors are squishy for me. In fact, I returned 2 for refund.
I have a slotted Ghost Ultimate connector on of one of my G34 clones. I use a 5# trigger spring and a 4.5# striker spring in that gun.
Love it! Closest thing to 1911 break I have. YMMV

Well, that depends on your striker spring. I run Wolff 4.5# striker springs in range guns with a 5# stock weight trigger spring.
My .02 is a (-) connector and a 6# trigger spring is no good on a carry or defense gun. I would try one set before you decide on more of that set up on a G26. Resets will vary. I had a set up like that and it would only reset some of the time.

Interesting. I didnt know Wilson Combat made glock parts. Ill be damned.

I may disassemble our SC’s and stone and polish the aforementioned areas above, and reassemble now that I have some good polishing compound and the right wheels/bits, as well as hitting those areas needed to clean them up and break the sharp edges. They have only seen hand-polishing with Flitz, and not the real polishing routine that they really need. Then I can think about swapping out some parts, if need be. Cheers!

Good idea, Flitz is really just for cleaning and polishing metal surfaces. It won't remove any rough spots.
Johnny Glocks has a pretty good video on which edges to break and polish on the trigger bar and connector.
 
It isn't eiteither one of those. I think it was a Functional Friday video though. In the one I am thinking of he shows how to break the ledge of the connector and break the edges and polish the inside flat of the "birdshead" that interfaces with the connector.

Yep that’s the one Callducks. Exactly the protocols I will follow and polishing using the right compounds that they are using, breaking the edges, etc as directed. I put those two (original pair of) SC’s together before I had the good stuff to do it right.
