I might be among the first

Damn, my barrel is 10.5". If you only got 16.15" from a 11.5 i'm going to have to go another route.
Says on the website it will extend to 16" on a 10.5 barrel. So I definitely messed up in numbers somewhere. I'll def check for length once it assembled.

It's welded. I left it ugly on purpose in case some letter boy has a issue. Lol. I know it's not the right way to measure it, but it gives a good idea of barrel length. I may have been off. Might be a little longer... I'll double check once I assemble it. I know it's cringefully ugly. I'm doing so on purpose I plan to beat the snot out of this thing doing classes, so it's gonna get pretty nasty anyway.

Really, it's not that bad, I've seen worse :) I'd suggest taking some copper wire and wrapping the flash hider grooves, then mask off around the pin with aluminum HVAC tape before doing the weld. That has worked for me when MIG welding over the pin. Keeps the spatter clean-up time down.

(self own.. the first M4 barrel/long flash hider I did was such a ugly weld that I ended up putting the whole thing into a lathe and turning the flash hider to clean it up.)

From a legal standpoint... don't mock up the rifle before you weld the pin. For a brief moment you arguably had an SBR from the alphabet people's perspective... always do the pin and weld before ever putting the barrel in the receiver, even as a mock-up.

Just curious, what is the rational for using such a short barrel length and really long flash hider? Is it just for looks? When I'm doing a civilian legal M4 clone, the objective is to make the bayonet lug functional, otherwise I would keep as much rifled barrel as possible. I'm just thinking a better way to get the look would be to bore out the Odin so it slides over a longer barrel.

There really is no rationale behind it. I've built many ar platform weapons, and just wanted to do something different. Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind....

Sorry for hijack...
Both XM and KAK 6 inch flash hider are sold-out. I assume it would be big demand after brace rule. Thought about changing my PSA 10.5" barrel to 16" but P&W this flash hider would be cheaper n easier.

Signed up on Kak, Primary Arm, Midway. Any other leads? Thanks in advance
