The Colt Python story continues....

I wonder what type of stainless that frame is made of? Is it magnetic? (ie: put a magnet near it)
I would imagine the SS used shouldn't present a problem machining or polishing.

This is (likely) 304 I'm using for a bracket to secure my water main against the house. 1/4" hole with a quick chamfer then a slight polish with the deburr wheel. That pin hole of yours looks like the tool used to pretty the hole chattered and they said "fuck it"... 🙁

This week I came across a forum post, at an AZ gun forum. The guy was selling a new Colt Python, that he buggered of the roll pin, installing his Wilson sight.

Made me go Hmmmmmmmmm.
Yeah... I'm not going to touch it! The Wilson sight is still in the package.

Bongo Lewe said,
"Well, you should know that most forum dwellers are a-holes :)

But seriously... the gun-specific forums are full of fanboi's. They can't imagine the gun and the maker they love ever having a fault. To the point of being irrational. They climb all over anybody who makes even the slightest complaint. The "I'd rather push a Chevy than drive a Ford" types. The stereotypical man-child. I've given up on those brand-specific gun forums. The have an overabundance of grumpy old men whose prostate is the size of a grapefruit and young men who couldn't find a date in a whore house with 100 bills sticking out of their ears. A forum or social media is the only place they can experience an illusion of being important. Because no one in the real world likes or listens to them."

That's one of the reasons I keep my posting at glocktalk to a minimum.
As a whole they have Glockinitus. Can't see their stuff isn't the end all,
be all. Boorish, elitist and condescending. And when the poor folks who
are trying to build a clone have a problem and ask for help you'd think
somebody pizzed in their holy water. Sorry for the rant............

I had a beef with a GT moderator. I called him out on his irregular enforcement of the forum rules. I asked him to delete my account. Instead, the prick banned me. That's all the power he has in his pathetic life.

The kiss of death for forums is an established clique of long time members (old men and the unemployed) with nothing better to do but to talk to each other all day and be hostile toward anybody who is new or expresses an opinion the old fart/idiot incumbents don't like.

Like so many B movie themes, the villain says... "My family built this town, mister". And the righteous protagonist replies he doesn't doesn't give a shit who did what 100 years ago. As another old saying goes, "Seniority don't mean nothin to me cuz I ain't got any."

I dislike clubs of any kind. Always did. They are a figurative Petri dish for growing cultures of stupid narrow-mindedness. Like with college sororities, there's always a judgmental, fat cock blocker who doesn't want any of her 'sisters' to enjoy life. A lot of forum moderators fit that pattern.

On the Colt forum I'm now being accused of causing the damage myself by trying to install the Wilson sight I purchased - which is still in the original packaging. Nice, eh?
It's always funny how I find manufacturers forums when I have problems with their guns. Hi Point and Ruger. Hi Point threw me off when I decided this was the absolute highest purpose for their gun.

You gotta admire a gun maker with a sense of humor. I have a Yeet Cannon and make no apologies. Never fails, shoots even the cheapest ammo reliably, and is just as accurate as any other gun at self defense range 7-15 yards. Also lifetime warranty, no questions asked. Dependable, affordable, fugly.

I was told by a firearms examiner at a crime lab that the most reliable gun they get is a Hi-Point. Rarely had one that didn't go bang. If it didn't fire, the firing pin was usually backwards. Turn it around and bang bang.

I couldn't get more than 3 rounds through mine before a nose up jam. Multiple mags sitting loaded for a year and I still can't get through a mag. I promised myself that if I ever got my Maryland HQL the first handgun would be a Yeet Cannon.

Funny you should say that.
I’ve got a pair just like that…two actually
Hahahaha....same...I actually love them.
Those boots are the only point of contention in an otherwise perfect relationship between Viking and Mrs Viking.
I believe her disdain comes from the fact that her brother liked them, so I gave him a pair. He thought they were so cool he wore them with sweats, and even shorts...Just like "You can't blame the gun, but the shooter" "You can't blame the boots!"

Man that thing is cool. I'm gonna hafta get one so I can carry it with my Python skinned boots!!!

An old reliable design uses an expansion chamber first stage before the cones and washers.
Just about all suppressors have an expansion chamber, even 22RF. But the tube is usually the same diameter. What's unusual in the illustration is the two diameter tube. If such an animal exists in the annals of suppressor history, I have not seen a pic of one.
If anyone is in the market for a 45 ACP can, the Silencerco Osprey is the best we have tested to date, both dry and wet. An added benefit is the offset design allows the use of the issue sights, something a round can in this caliber doesn't.

The old Cobray design looks like that.
