Video What happened here? Ka-boom.

But the 2nd round isn't a "squib," if it's full-powered. The dud / underloaded round just pushes the bullet, which is the actual "squib," into the barrel but not out. The next, full-powered round isn't a "squib." It provides the ka-boom because it's blocked by the squib.

I've never heard of the 2nd round that causes the explosion referred to as a "squib."
I dont think there was a second round and there was no squib.

He either assembled the gun badly or put a 10mm round into a 45 chamber. My two cents. Maybe three cents.

I saw the aftermath of double charged 10mm fired in 1911. Blew out the magazine and cracked the grips. The mags will blow out. In this video I don’t think there was a mag in place, but you can see parts of something come out. Maybe the blown apart shell casing?
Oh yes. Too much of the black stuff. Anybody see the vid with the guy who blew up his Serbu 50 cal? Shooting ammo of unknown origin. Lucky he's alive. He wont do that again.

I don't shoot reloads. This is why. They are too unreliable/upreductable. Even manufactured reloads have given me fits. Especially in pistols. Long guns... I'm less rigid. Even so, I shoot factory match quality ammo and it's pretty good. I'm not competing for the Olympic team or for trophies in a benchrest match. I can ring steel at 800 yard with a factory gun, modest scope and off the shelf match grade ammo. Good enough. My motivation and training was being good enough to hit a towel with a head in it from two or three football fields away. :)

Perhaps. I was debating the terminology used by @FrankenGlock . I was just pointing out that in the case of a squib, the round that causes the ka-boom isn't the "squib." The "squib" is the bullet lodged ahead of the round that causes the ka-boom in such a case.

So for example... I hear a "pop" instead of a "bang." Squib! But, I DON'T fire the next round. The squib is the single bullet lodged in the barrel. It's a squib without the ka-boom.

Ah. Indeed that's true.

I'd really like to see the barrel and slide from that Tisas. That would validate which theories presented here is most likely.

By definition, it is a squib round as it didn’t exit the barrel.
In all my years in this "arena," I've never once (until now) heard someone call the 2nd fully-charged round that's inadvertently fired INTO the squib.... as a "2nd squib."

What do you call a round that can’t leave the barrel?

You are mistaking a squib for a squib load. A squib by definition is any bullet stuck in a barrel. Could be by debris or another bullet. If the bullet were to leave the chamber by pushing the first one out, it would not be a squib.

The resulting action of a normal round getting stuck can cause another squib without catastrophic failure or can cause catastrophic failure like we see in the video.

No, a squib load is defined as a cartridge or shell that produces projectile velocity and sound substantially lower than normal. A cartridge that develops the correct pressure to fire the projectile that is fired into previously fired projectile lodged in the barrel from a squib round is not itself a "squib" round because it didn't exit the barrel.
Both correct.

I don't want to get too deep in technical jargon but that subsequent round would be officially classified as a Squidley Diddly.

The action of firing a round into a barrel that has been previously plugged is called Sloppy Second.

I hope this clears thing up.

Very amusing. I must say.

I have reached the point in life where I no longer choose to argue with those who have won several major awards.
