"Hogg is touted as their face of masculinity to help them regain the young male voters they lost in the 2024 election."

For those who have not studied economics, tariffs are a tax, imposed on the importer of goods and materials imported into the United States. In the case of these tariffs, this represents an estimated tax increase on US importers of $1.4 Trillion. Much of this tax, if not most, will be passed along to US consumers, so Pres. Trump is effectively increasing taxes on US citizens. Also note that any consumption tax, like a sales tax or value-added tax, is regressive by its nature which means that it will have its greater impact on lower income tax payers.

It is also worth noting that another effect of tariffs is to make the tariff-increasing country less attractive to global exporters. This will directly benefit China who will find other markets more receptive.

For those who studied History along with economics, the Smoot-Hawley tariffs of the Depression-era worsened the initial recession producing deflation and depression. For the most part, depressions hurt everybody but particularly those with less education and fewer skills. The Trump Tariffs are the opening shots in a global trade war that will mostly hurt US citizens.

Enjoy the ride...mostly downward. They will not, contrary to Present. Trump's pronouncement, make America more wealthy...the tariffs come out of American pockets.

Give this group more credit than that. There are some VERY smart people here, and we know EXACTLY how tariffs work. We also recognize that Trump is using tariffs as a bargaining chip... political leverage.

It's also worth mentioning that consumers have CHOICE. They can instead buy American made products, which will now be cheaper than imported products. This, in turn, puts ENORMOUS pressure on the countries that export to the US market when their sales PLUMMET. And, THAT is how leverage works. They will cave to Trump's demands to level the playing field.

He made things better for EVERYONE during his previous term. He will not only do it again, he will do it even better with a more favorable Congress and his own experience (from his previous term) on how to deal with (and drain) the swamp.

Already things are better. I'm seeing an almost instantaneous increase in consumer confidence all around me.... aka "the Trump Effect." :D

PS... BREAKING: Two of Canada's fastest-growing food companies are now planning to move their operations to the United States to avoid paying President Trump's tariffs. Mid-Day Squares was initially planned to expand its factory in Montreal. However, with 70 percent of its sales in the United States, they are now considering expanding to Ohio, Wisconsin, and Missouri. “We need the U.S. as a business. It’s critical.” - Mid-Day Squares Founder Jake Karls. Flourish Pancakes is planning to do the same as well. THE TARIFFS ARE WORKING!

PPS.... These tariffs will be short-lived temporary measures that will quickly force Canada, China, Mexico, Russia to acquiesce to Trump's conditions for future trade. In other words... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Those countries are in NO position to do otherwise. WE (the USA) are holding ALL the cards. They need us FAR more than we "need" them. Without us, they've got NOTHING. We can easily survive without them.

Trudeau has threatened to cut off Canadian oil exports to the U.S. in retaliation. Who would he be really hurting? 95% of Canadian oil exports is the USA. That's the proverbial cutting off your nose to spite your face.

We've got all the oil we'll EVER need for CENTURIES. We need only to tap into it. We don't need them. But they need us. Fuck'em. They'll cave. They have no other choice.

They need us FAR more than we need them. All we have to do is wait. They'll have no choice but to accept Trump's terms. Without our business, Canada has..... no business. They're dead in the water.

And conservatives rejoiced! He's PERFECT for them. The dems doubling down on losing can only be good for us!

My petite daughter has bigger arms than Hoggie.

And she could wipe the floor with him and his imbecilic mind! Yup, he's perfect for the DNC! 🤮

Oil from Canada isnt like other types of crude. You need a different method of refining it. Canada would have a hard time selling their crude to someone else - who did not have a refinery capable of processing it. The US built refineries just to process Canadian crude oil.

The country radio stations around here started cramming her shit down our ears and the people revolted--called their stations and advertisers to let them know that her music sucks. I haven't heard her fake country crap in weeks. Of course now that it is supposedly "good", I'm sure they will try cramming it again... 😠
