Those are simply in place of the oem badges. It’s not as though you’re adding anything garish- no stickers or other doo-dads (I’m not into that stuff, either- not even bumper stickers)

Did the 20k oil change myself today.... after the dealership fumble at my last oil change:
Third dealer service today => Oil leak from drain plug!!!

So much easier. So much faster. So much CHEAPER. Instead of $156 at the dealer. It was $50 and my time.

Installed the Fumoto Valve, so next time will be even easier. These things are great. Easier and cleaner than fumbling with the traditional drain plug.

If you do your own oil changes, or just add oil... Ya gotta get one of these screw-in funnels!

Those two items are definitely a must! I’ll drop mine off in a few thousand miles at Racer's garage! 😝

I was looking at those funnels today. What brand is that one? My truck has a V-8 and it is not easy getting to the oil fill. A 45 degree fitting looks like something I need.

I have a 2024 Chevy truck. Switch from a Ram. Mostly because the service department were crooks. That, and the truck was falling apart around me. For the Chevy, I made an appointment for the first service. Showed up 10 minutes early. Stood around for 30 minutes while the service writers had their coffee and a smoke. When it was my turn, I was told that oil changes were first come first serve and I was no. 10. I told them it was for its first service. Supposed to be a big deal according to the sales department. Not just an oil change but a full system check. Nope, just an oil change, you are number 10.

I don't have time to sit there so I went home and did it myself. 20 minutes and done. They were probably not done with their second cup of coffee before I had the oil and filter changed.

Added bonus. My truck takes 8 qt of oil. I like to keep it a half qt below max. I can fill it exactly how I want and eliminate the possibility of it being overfilled. I've seen that too many times in my time with cars when done by "professionals".

I would recommend picking up extra O-rings for the adapter...

AMATEURS! :D The trick to NOT SPILLING A DROP is to hold the opening of the oil container higher than the handle when you pour. And watch the oil fill hole, not the opening of the container. And you need nerves of steel... ;)

One of the nice things about the Fumoto Valve is that you can easily drain just a little, if you (or they) happen to over-fill.

Get another floor jack. Or TWO if you don't have one... :)

I have one of these, works good, fits under "lower" cars, light and easy to put in the trunk. Used to go on sale for $60 but Bidenomics has raised the price to $100. :rolleyes: $80 on sale would be a good buy. Doesn't lift that high so maybe not truck worthy. LINK Shown next to my Roush. I stopped using the Roush because it started leaking oil onto the floor after one year and a month out of warranty but has since been repaired this year. Repair thread HERE.

I have a 2024 Sierra, which has had its first "free" oil change. I should do my own from now on. @Racer88 has inspired me. I need race ramps for the Corvette, or something like that. OR a BendPak Lift - either a two or four post or a scissor lift which is made of less unobtanium than the post lifts

I have two, actually The big orange one is more recent. My other one is like your smaller one on the right.

Why the jack stands if you have two floor jacks? :unsure: Yes, I know it is in case one/both of the jacks "gives out" but they don't... :)

The "almost always don't"

Why drop the mag and rack the slide AND look for a round in the chamber, when all you have to do is drop the slide and rack the slide?

I've seen people who have had a vehicle fall on them. It's not something I want to see again. Ever.

Yeah... no... I'm not depending on the floor jacks to hold up. PLUS, the vehicle would be balancing on only TWO points on the centerline of the car. Yikes!

Not a good idea at all, IMO. Assuming it is initially balanced, a bump into the car on one side would likely send it crashing to the ground on the other side.

To be clear... I used Rhino Ramps (front) to do the oil change. I didn't get a photo of the car on the ramps.

I used jack stands for the 4-tire rotation.

You don't have lift points on the pinch welds? Where one would put a jack to change a flat on the road? Front-to-rear rotation? Use pucks to protect the jack points. I didn't realize they give you convenient center lift points... :rolleyes:

Yes. But to do a proper AWD rotation... rear wheels go to front (on same side)... front wheels go to opposite side rear locations. The only way to do that is to lift the entire car and do all four simultaneously.

So, I use the floor jack at the front center lift point... slip the front jack stands in. Then floor jack at the rear center point and slip the rear jack stands in.

Even without me under the car... I don't want the car to tip over without the wheels on. You don't see how that could EASILY happen with just the jacks on the center points?
