In HS I had a beetle that I put the Crown conversion kit on. It was for grafting a Corvair engine on the VW transaxle.
The kit included the fiberglass fenders and the hood. Mine looked just like this except I put nerf bars on the rear to replace the bumper. It was really fast. Eventually, the VW transaxle self-destructed.
