The "genius" of the money-grabbing agenda is that they attach a sense of MORALITY to fake "science." So the muggles feel RIGHTEOUS by glomming onto this false narrative. They feel superior in their complicity. They don't know jack about actual Science, so they put their blind trust in what amounts to "celebrity scientists." The media TELLS them "this is science," and they swallow it whole.

The same strategy was used with the covid hoax and hysteria. They get the public, who are their victims, to become their unwitting accomplices. So, the few of us who can think critically and question the narrative are viciously attacked by the very victims of the conspiracy.

Whenever I've offered to point the muggles to actual scientific citations, 100% of them refuse. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. The "burden" of READING some peer reviewed literature is just too great.... It's much easier to just believe the talking heads on TV, while scoffing at me and even terminating our relationship to further enhance their sense of self-righteousness.

It's a good thing that we have a workable plan to stop burning fossil fuels. It does pollute the Earth - both water and air. It's not just about CO2. The byproducts are toxic as Hell. Gasses, chemicals and solid waste from burning anything on the scale we do is not trivial.

The billion dollar question with nukes is what to do with the spent fuel and reactors and equipment that reach end of their useful life.

Adding: In most climates, a typical residence can generate all the power it needs with solar panels. Large cities and industry need more than this technology can deliver.

I call bullshit on Canada cutting off the power because all electric utilities belong to what they call an Interconnect, which is a non profit corporation that manages the transmission of power across long lines on behalf of member power companies. This is where the so-called grid is managed from. Power is routed from all generating sources to wherever it needs to go on the grid. The Canadian power authority (government) would have to violate their legal contract to 'turn off' power. The exchange of power is reciprocal. If a generating plant has an unplanned outage, other power generators make up the deficit. Canada cant decide they don't like Maine and turn off their power. It doesnt work that way.

If they did figuratively 'cut the lines' or 'throw the switch', they would be compromising their own backup. These are the interconnects I mentioned:

There are downsides to nuclear for sure. However, spent fuel aside, when the plants are run properly (as they have been for 70 years) there is no toxic effluent to the air, ground, or water. A repeat of TMI and Fukushima is very unlikely.

I doubt there will ever be a return to the large scale nuke plants we have today. Most are shut down/retired. The new nukes will be smaller and greater in number. The concept of power parks isn't new. Putting small reactors and generators near where the power is consumed is a design concept that has been resurrected.

We should both live so long.

The logic for cleaner energy is pretty simple. Fire has served us well since we discovered tools and started walking erect. Every century we move closer to the ideal energy source. We gave up fireplaces to heat our homes with coal and stopped using kerosene lamps for the health and safety natural gas provided. Then electric lighting. Then gas and electric appliances. Now gas is starting to fade and everything is going electric. Or soon will be.

The hard part is nobody has figured out the perfect alternative to burning shit to make electricity. Nuclear is as close as we have come. The physicists among us know fission has some down side. Spent fuel and what to do with the reactors when they are worn out. They stay radioactive and dangerous for thousands of years. Even so, it's the best alternative we have right now.

We have yet to figure out fusion. A hundred years from now that may be solved. Or not. Somebody like Musk will be the one to figure it out.

I'm at about 40% solar now. I didn't do it to be off the grid, although that's my general direction. My main motivation was being able to operate my well pump and provide lighting when there was no power and also to let the sun power my pool pump/filter system - which is expensive to run.

I have a whole house Generac system with a 500 gallon propane tank in the ground. Because I am a belt and suspenders kinda guy. The Generac can charge all the batteries for the home and a future EV in the event of no sun.

If the sun supernovas, I can stay alive three days longer than everyone else.

When I get an EV truck that meets my requirements, it will be able to power the essentials in the house for 3 days if I need it to. The generator burns about a gallon of propane per hour. So if the propane runs out, I can use the truck to give me three days to figure out what to do next.

I will eventually add more solar panels and Tesla batteries for the home.

All of the appliances in the home are electric. Super-efficient geothermal heat pump for heat and cooling. Just in case I want to throw an end of the world barbecue, I have a big outdoor grill connected to the propane tank.

I like solar, I like geothermal, etc- fabulous technologies to be sure; but what I don't like is somebody's BS Climate Change suppository to control me or rip me off. I have a brain.., and use it. And the whole 'dead dinosaurs are petroleum and are depleting' is absolute rubbish.

Add to that the fact the today's internal combustion engine is efficient (AND BURNS SO CLEAN) on a scale never foreseen by my late HS auto shop teacher and his generation in the 70's.... I'm a petrolhead. But I'm also interested in new technologies like we're seeing with the hydrogen, and now WATER-based engines...just amazing. I knew a guy that was working on the technology to separate the hydrogen molecule from water for internal combustion engines, but it looks like Nissan beat him to it.

It's an amazing time, peeps, for these new emerging and developing technologies, innit?

Fuel cells could help us bridge the transition from petroleum to electric. You put gasoline in the cell, the car is electric. Or the car could be hydrogen powered and have an ICE. They arent without limitations and there a lot of different types of fuel cells. This was hot in the 90's but seems to have gone out of favor. At least for cars. Some municipalities still have busses with fuel cells.

In my more optimistic youth, I imagined the government investing in energy technology something like the space program that got us to the moon (No, it was not faked). Instead, the government pissed away billions on social services to level the playing field for minorities and disadvantaged people. None of it worked. Energy and related technology would have done more for society and improving everyone's standard of living than handouts. There are still lots of people who have to decide every month if they pay the electric bill or buy food or medicine. Or clothes for their kids. Cheap energy is key to every aspect of the economy.

The politicians and public lost interest in space exploration. Over time NASA lost its mojo.

The Cold War was the perfect motivation to beat the Russians to the moon. Once we got there... then what. A few more trips. Yawn.

The space shuttle dominated for almost 30 years. And the space station. Hubble, other satellites. The public didnt find any of this interesting. Someone told me all the big brains at NASA left and went to defense contractors in the 90s. I dont know if that's true or not.
