G19 with suppressor

Back in the day, I'd obtained several multi-colored slides from Armorally. At the time, matching frames were only occasionally available. So, I had pulled several frames from my "stock" in either black or FDE and sent them out to be painted in the matching color pallet/design. This one is Desert Canopy.

This is one of the G19 combinations that I stuck a threaded barrel on and tried a suppressor. Not surprisingly, I'm having ejection issues. Is this an issue that "might" be helped with a lower spring rate recoil spring? If so, I'm open to suggested rates and sources for buying the part.

Yeah, you'll definitely need a lower weight spring.

For my build with a ported barrel, I had to drop the spring weight quite a bit before it would cycle reliably.

If I recall, the normal recoil spring weight is 17 lbs. I bought a bunch of springs (uncaptured recoil spring assembly) from Wolff Gunsprings in various weights. And then I had to experiment to figure out which would work.
 
This suppressor is a Banish 45. The BANISH 45 is a modular silencer specifically designed for handguns and pistol caliber carbines in calibers ranging from .45 ACP down to rimfire. It appears to include something akin to a Neilson device.

After reading the above posts I dug out my Octane 9 and ran it on a SIG P-229 and
a Polymer 80 with a stock Glock 22 slide on it. I shot Winchester white box 124
grain and they both ran great with it. Both guns have 40-9 conversion barrels on them.

Having said that, Both pistols were "wet" with Lubriplate 630-AA and mineral
oil. Also the Polymer-80 had been polished. They both had stock springs.

I think getting a lighter spring might be the thing to do. I also think you should polish
the rails, oil the snot out of your gun then try that.You might get by with just the polish job.

I'd ordered some springs to give that a try, but I'm never against polishing up all the moving parts and doing moderate oiling. I'll take a shot at that this week and report back. Thanks for your thoughts on this.
 
@Steelart99 Before you swap any springs, try this...

Has the gun had enough rounds through it to be broken in? Say 200+.
Is the gun properly lubricated?
Does the gun produce this malfunction ever when shot without the can?
Has the piston and spring in the suppressor booster been properly lubricated?
And there's always the ammo. Have you tried a different brand of 9mm subs?

As @serger says, polishing never hurts either. Not just the rails, but all the places/parts that contribute drag on the slide.

I say all this because my P80 functions fine with the factory Glock recoil spring and a 1st gen Liberty Mystic with the SS core. Quite certain it is heavier than your can.

This particular build has only had about 50 rounds through it, without the suppressor attached. It has fed 115 and 124 grain without any problems or malfunctions. I tend to minimize my lubrication ... learning from MGB.

I did not lubricate the suppressor booster, simply using it as received. I'll check into that to see what might be needed. I didn't even think about this aspect.

I have a box of Federal Syntech 150 gr 9mm somewhere in my stash ... gonna have track those down.

Sounds like I need to start by addressing my fit/finish and lubrication along with just getting more rounds through this build to break it in. (y)
 
Let us know what it took to make it work.
If after doing the above, you still have issues, pay attention to exactly what the gun does when it malfunctions. A lot of peeps say ejection when it might be an extraction issue.
This is what to look for:

Does the case fully extract from the chamber, but remains in the gun with the slide closing on the empty case?
Do the cases eject from the gun, but do not eject in a uniform pattern? Do some of them hit you in the face?
If the answer to these questions is yes, give us detailed info about what extractor and ejector you are running. Good close up, in focus pics always help. These issues are pretty easy to solve.
