There are probably tens of 3D printed firearms used in crimes nationwide. I would bet 1,000 times more are killed in trip and fall accidents.

But if the Dems have their way then all the 3D printed guns will be used in crimes because it will be a crime to have one.

I think the "untraceable" trope is laughable.

I agree with you there. If you can swap the barrel in a gun then isn't it 'untraceable'? The serial number doesn't magically get etched into the projectile when the gun gets fired and if you dispose of the barrel properly they will never be able to match rifling marks (which I think is b.s.to begin with). Now how is the gun going to be traced to any bullets fired.

The only thing a serial number trace can accomplish is follow the trail from the manufacturer to the distributor to the dealer to the first purchaser. It ends there.

Of course running a trace assumes that the gun was LEFT at the scene of the crime. Yeah, 'cuz in the movies, the perp ditches the gun next to the corpse. That's for real, too! ;)

I do think a majority of the population who do not own guns falsely believe bullets can be tracked back to guns through serial number registration.

Common misconception portrayed by the media in their pursuit of eliminating Ghastly Guns.

California is regulating barrels with the new law Newscum recently signed. Barrels will have to go through an FFL in the near future depending on the outcome of the 2A the lawsuits against Ca.

California's politicians need to fall off into the Pacific Ocean, preferably the Mariana Trench, where they can keep an eye on the remains of the SR-71s that were dumped there to keep prying eyes away.

Stripper rail and breech face?

Yep, that too. Pretty much any part that hits the casing and round.

This is a good example of a breech face indentation. Cheapie G23 slide with off-center firing pin hole. .40 and conversion 9mm cases shown. While the cartridge has changed, the face remains the same. The 9mm cases on the right came from a different gun...
