Question How much ammo do you keep on hand?

Wouldn't it be prudent to have a substantial amount of 22RF and shoot it to conserve the CF ammo?
Definitely! Love me some .22LR.

I need more! I would LOVE to have a S&W Model 41. Also a S&W 617.

You like a challenge. Get a 22 conversion for a Glock and slap on one of your P80 frames! Same trigger, same feel etc. ;)
I've thought about it. I've heard mixed reviews on those conversion kits.

Does no one revert to shooting 22RF when the price goes up and supply goes down. I understand that those that lay in several thousand rounds of 9mm to keep up their practice during the dry spells, but when the real SHTF comes, the dry spell may not pass for quite some time, and there's no way to tell in advance if or when it will pass. Wouldn't it be prudent to have a substantial amount of 22RF and shoot it to conserve the CF ammo? You can fit 5K rounds of RF in a GI 50 cal. ammo can if it is loose or in the old style paper boxes. Quite compact. One could easily stash 20K rounds in a bedroom closet.

Right gun for the right job. If you find yourself needing to shoot critters to eat, the 22LR or 22 mag are a useful option. Why waste a 45 or 9mm round on a rabbit or squirrel? A suppressed 22 also won't give you away. A takedown like the Ruger 10/22 is perfect. Not too heavy to carry in a backpack.

Or, if you're a 007 Goldfinger fan, maybe this will appeal.

I'm going to look into this.
The video said he was thinking about building them for sale. Let us know what you find out please.
I don't imagine that it will be inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. And in states that have no e-bike restrictions, the big motor/big battery options will have appeal.

Stumbled up on this vid. 40+ m.p.h e-bike for $2500. Doesn't have the range of the Cam Engineering bike in the previous vid, but battery is quick change and extra batteries are $500 ea. Might be a contender if the Cam Engineering bike is too pricey.

Dude does e-bike reviews on his channel. Aging California hippie type that comes off as mildly annoying at first, but his review is info packed without the fluff of a lot of youtubers.

I don't own one but have been told that the Henry is the very best 22LR survival rifle.

I put my Ruger 10/22 takedown in a Magpul stock. I liked the Magpul Backpacker takedown stock so much I did the same with the Ruger PCC in 9mm. Both fit in a backpack or smaller slingbag. I often keep the PCC in the compartment under the rear seat of my Jeep as shown in the lower image. It only takes a couple of seconds from the takedown state to be ready to fire.

My TNW Aero is pretty awesome as well. Also a takedown. I have the both the 10mm and 45 barrels for it.

Maybe time for an E-bike thread? They are the NEW scourge of the roadways, IMO... ;) Numbnuts thinking because they go 20mph they can ride on the side of a 45mph roadway. Then you get some PUSSY afraid to pass them so now you have a line of traffic behind this asshole on an Ebike! The only consolation to me is that the majority of them are riding without helmets... :D (Darwin observes approvingly)

Goat has some cool products. The e-scooter is interesting as well.

I have old rail lines not far from my place. I was told they were once used for coal trains coming out of VA and WVA to Hampton Roads. There's also numerous abandoned or seldom used lines as well as spurs that were mainly for agricultural commerce. Northern and CSX lines go to major urban areas and ports to the south and also run west to Memphis, even Chicago and points in between.

It would be fun to take a trip recreationally on a "rail" bike. For bugging out, you could rig dual AR pistols or sub guns on the handlebar. Just in case somebody stood in your way. o_O

I haven't seen any e-bikes yet, but as the locals say in my part of the world.... "Sorry you are in a hurry"! :) Anybody observed driving fast is known to be visiting or just passing thru.

The Goat bike is interesting for it speed. Since SC has no restrictions on e-bikes at the moment, this would make a neat runabout without the need for licensing. Needs a means of carrying stuff if you want to make grocery store runs though.
They must be very popular. Website says the shipments are sold out by the time the container ship makes port, so pre-order is required.

Yeah, did have a bit of a de-rail there. But sometimes de-rails produce interesting content as was the case here.
If Racer wishes, he can split the e-bike stuff off into its own thread.

TEMPORARY HIJACK:
Speaking of new threads, I just started a Darwin thread. I thought about this earlier in the week and your post made me start one for Darwin Award Candidates. 👇
