At the pistol range on Public Day, it is not uncommon for people to pre-sight their rifles in at the 25yd and 50yd ranges before they head over to the rifle range which is 100, 200, 300yds. It is also not uncommon for people to just shoot their ARs/AKs for fun, so "louder" guns are not unusual. We have a "regular" that brings his American AK (I forget what make) and is getting pretty good groups at the 50. Burns about 100-200rds. Has no desire to stretch it out further at the rifle range--if he's happy, we're happy.

The point is, loud happens and the RSOs all have muffs and some have plugs in under those.
Yesterday, a few of us are standing around bullshitting and a guest fires off a 30-06 rifle at the 50yd and one of the RSOs nearly jumps out of his skin!

We laughed our asses off and suggested he go to the portajohn to change his diaper!

I guess you would have had to have been there but the heckling was brutal!

The rifle was some kind of older semi-auto, maybe a Remmy? I wasn't paying attention... I do know it was ejecting cases about 10-15'.
