Tha 50!

Yeah, I buy 1000 of a new caliber from Starline. I figure the range pickups can help keep me to where I don't feel like buying again for a while :)

And if someone will send me the :ghost brass they won't use it's a bonus!

Had the entire property to myself.. so relaxing and nice to pull the 50 out not worry about other people.

With a hole that big, do groups really matter?

I'm still trying to get to the range with mine. Had it all ready but was messing around with the BCG and launched the firing pin retainer into the depths of my garage. Waiting on parts.

Any left over brass you want to dispose of?

I policed up a good bit of brass. It’s in the back of jeep. Once I get it all together I’ll send it to whoever wants it

ME ME ME ME ❤️

Edited to say, The BRASS, not the Jeep! :ROFLMAO:
I believe I did say in a previous post, once I have a good bit racked up, I’d send it to ya. I have this one bag now. It’s mixed with everything from my .50B all the way to .22LR. Ive been intending to get 3/4 bags together to send it all at once

Whoever gets it, if that 50B brass is taking up too much room, I'll put it to good reuse. I don't grab brass I can't use. Some brass fired in some guns is too risky for me. I'm just a little too lazy to sort it. Since the 50B was once fired in the same make and model upper I have, I'm not scared of it.

I finally got to the range with the 50. I chickened out and put an Adaptive Tactical padded butt stock on it. It took away the painful part of the recoil but not much to be done about the gigantic shove from the 50. I do believe I put a fancy Armaspec heavy buffer in the rifle. I need to pull it out to see how it did.

5 rounds loaded and cycled the way they should. Range brass monster got 2 pieces of my brass. Bastard.

Since NavyVet83 bowed out of the 50 game, it's up to me to carry the torch.

Based on his bum shoulder, I vowed to not shoot a lot at one time. 5 rounds was it. My daughter was with me at the indoor range. She said the blast was unpleasant. I've fired hard kicking rifles and shotguns before. Quick hard recoil bothers me. This is more like a really firm shove, the recoil is spread out.

I put an Athlon 1x prism sight on it. It gives me more than enough eye relief. The reticle is very busy but by just paying attention to the top dot, it wasn't distracting at all. I had to really dim it for the indoor range. The intensity was set for outside daylight and the whole reticle was a fuzzy mess. Once dimmed, everything was sharp and focused. We shall see how it likes being on the 50B.

The Bear Creek Arsenal upper performed well. No FTFs or issues. I dropped it on one of my no name lowers with what is probably a PSA NiBo enhanced trigger. I like PSA's 2 stage triggers better and will probably grab one next time they are on sale. I went over the BCA upper completely and I found no issues. Some of the older reviews talk about loose screws and such but I couldn't find anything wrong. I got the side charging upper just because. The charging handle isn't the sexiest solution I've seen but it works. Now, if they copied the shape of an AK changing handle, that would be cool. I changed the butt stock to an Adaptive Tactical padded stock. It isn't the best molded stock I've ever seen, ran about the same price as a Magpul but the recoil pad really does work. I used a Duramag 450 Bushmaster 7 round mag, slightly modified by widening the notch in front to match the radius of the 50 B case diameter. I can only stuff 4, sometimes 5 50B rounds in it. It has a sled style follower and is much easier to load the mag than a 223 mag. I had a Magpul 30 round 223 mag with me but forgot to try it.

I just wanted to check my battle zero at 25 yds and didn't shoot for groups but all hit where I aimed. It's time to get busy reloading because that is the only way I can barely afford to feed this beast. I may load some lighter just to take the bark and bite out it a little.

My daughter tested out a .22LR upper I just finished. She liked it. The trigger sucks so she didn't do too well with it. Maybe it needs the trigger out of the 50B and the 50B needs a two stage...

Yes? :)

I just ordered one of these. LINK I haven't received it yet so can't directly comment on it. It has plenty of (+) reviews. :) It will go in my S&W 15-22. A couple stages at the last Action Steel I shot at could have been faster if I could have pulled the trigger more quickly, I think. I'm hoping I like the flat trigger. 3.5lb pull advertised. Right now the 15-22 has a PSA EPT in it that I THOUGHT I had measured the pull and that it was breaking at about 5lbs but I just checked it and it is more like 6-6.5lbs! It is clean and has oil on it so I don't know what happened...

Somewhere in the back of my mind, CMMG says milspec triggers only with their .22 kit. Cassette triggers have the wrong hammer profile to work correctly.

Looks like the 50B lower already had the two stage PSA in it. I did find a PSA enhanced trigger in my parts bin and put that in the .22 last night. Definitely smoother but still hefty pull. I guess I had bigger things on my mind when I shot it to notice the trigger pull.

My sweet little girl needs to toughen up, work out and deal with it. Tough love.

Yeah, I kind of had to. It literally hurts at work at random times when I’m lifting heavier parts or holding onto something up above my head. I didn’t want to leave the 50 game, but I had to

None of us are getting any younger. Every now and then I get pains in places I didn't know I had. Shoulder and knees still OK though. Mostly my hands and wrists.

Refined carbs and sugars are the fuel for inflammation. I stopped eating processed food and it helps a lot. Lost weight, feel better, shit better. I also don't drink nearly as much alcohol as I did when I was younger.

Works for me and doesn't cost anything to do.

I took a close look at the fired brass from my 50. The Underwood ammo is loaded HOT. One pierced primer with a distinctive ejector indentation, hotter than the others. I will check the firing pin protrusion just to be sure. Probably long firing pin because the bolt is a 7.62x39 bolt and those often come a longer firing pin so set off commie ammo.

I'm getting ready to load some and I think I will stay away from max by a good margin. Just enough to cycle reliably.

The firing pin protrusion was too long so it is a 7.62x39 firing pin. The 50 Beowulf takes magnum pistol primers which are not as strong as rifle primers. They can't handle as much punch as a rifle primer. The 50B uses a 7.62x39 bolt. Stupid move on the part of Bear Creek Arsenal to leave the long tip firing pin in there.

I put a .223 firing pin in and the protrusion is within specs. Hopefully that ends the pierced primers.

Nose piercings, netherparts piercings, and now PRIMER piercings. Good heavens, peeps…
