Well, another Change of plans. Audi came off some money and scheduled me for school in Dallas next month so it looks like I’m staying lol… Apparently trying to leave is what it took to get em to keep the promises they made when I was hired.

So newish body a charger with the V6 in it. Comes in for check engine light. (Oil pressure sensor Circuit High, and Low Oil pressure). Independent shop tells client car needs an oil pump. Pump is weak. They bring to us for second opinion. On initial inspection I immediately see the acorns, and chewed up insulation from the engine cover. Well, something made a home here. Pull off the intake and woah, no surprise there. It chewed through the signal wire for the oil pressure sensor. A harness and 2 hours later it’s fixed…

What a mess the critters made.
 
A friend of mine has a Honda Ridgeline. Apparently, rodents love the 'eco-friendly' jacketing Honda decided to use on their wiring harnesses. I guess it tastes good. Honda replaced the damaged harnesses under warranty.

Honda sells a "rodent repellent" tape to cover those tasty wires. We were using it for a while but gave it up after finding out our local rodents did not read the press release about the properies of that tape.

I remember that stuff many years ago ( early 2000's ) when I was at Honda. I had always wondered if it actually worked. I never had any comebacks from electrical repairs so i always figured it did. Guess I was wrong.
 
Yikes... I have LOTS of Corvette experience. They are fun to drive. Hell to diagnose electrical issues.

A $100k+ for a JEEP?!?? Yeah.... That's a no. I wouldn't own a Jeep for free. They have one of the worst reputations for reliability.
 
I used to subscribe to Consumer Reports and read JD Powers reports on cars. Ironically, every vehicle they both rated badly I owned. I never had a lick of trouble with any of them.

Jeeps? I have three of them that my wife and I both drive under pretty harsh conditions. Daily off road driving, frequent salt and brackish water exposure, sand, mud, hauling shit. So far, no issues since 2021 except the aux battery failing in one of the Gladiators.

The highest maintenance car I ever owned was a BMW M3. It was also the most expensive car I ever owned. Second in that category was my wife's X5.

Years ago, my brother had a Grand Cherokee.... a disaster of a car. I guess it's true... your mileage may vary.

I see those Wagoneers around here fairly often. They're huge. But if I'm spending $100k+ on a vehicle (looking forward to such a dilemma!)... It won't be ANY domestic marque. Hell.... American pick-up trucks are now closing in on that number. Crazy. I remember in high school, guys got pick-up trucks because they were cheaper than a car. Now they're more expensive!
