P80 frames are nearly impossible to find these days. However, those aren’t the only 80% pistol styles to build.
USPA has Giesler 80%, p80 g26 & 43

MAS Defense has bridge frames in so very cool colors. Is more of a challenge to complete. May not look so nice inside when done but they do work just fine. I’d recommend trying it out. We have how to posts with recommended tools. I’d do more of them if I could get em shipped here.

Anyone come across a verified seller post em up. Vender list just updated.

Been looking at MAS for a couple weeks. I will pick one up soon. 76% ?

It's odd because USPA is in California and can sell and ship to the nation from California, but can't ship it down the street to customers in California .

Newsom must want the taxes generated from USPA's business sales to pay his salary to write new laws to prohibit Californians from purchasing further 2A products. See how that works?

I remember back in the early 70’s when the kung fu craze was at it’s peak, a lot of people were interested in the nunchaku. It was introduced to the public through a Bruce Lee movie. I understand it became so prevalent among some street thugs in California that it became illegal to carry publicly. One of, if not, the largest supply companies to the martial arts crowd was based in L.A. I often wondered then how could they sell and ship across the country when the possession was illegal there. Most of us made our own, but these were cooler.

It’s amazing how many items are manufactured in California but are only legal to export outside their state borders. Ridiculous.

I wonder if these would be illegal... ;)

You do not want a 76% frame. The trigger pocket is a serious pain to do right. Just not worth the effort.
Is it like some of the AR lower blanks which a drill press must be used ?

Num Kicks and Throwing Stars were weapons they could bust you for in WA state back when we were kids.

There is a lattice of plastic in the trigger housing pocket. It is more difficult than an AR due to the slope inside the pocket of the P80 lower. Makes it very difficult to get it perfect. If you had a jig made it wouldn’t be too bad but when I made some there were no jigs available.

It is all bullshitski! Created bullshitski. Hundreds of pages of paper (almost a thousand!) trying to ram through the pistol brace rule and redefining the "accessory" components that would make an AR15 pistol an SBR. And, simultaneously redefining what a firearm is with the frame rule and 80% lowers. Then cracking down on cheap homemade suppressors which shouldn't be illegal in the first place. My ears are worth it! They've throw darts at a dartboard to keep the general public in limbo for years and put small businesses out of business.

Who's wasted a lat of cash and time trying to guess the illegal winds of change and the outcome of the unconstitutional rules that were initiated when Biden was installed?
(That's not a rhetorical question.)

If they hacked the First Amendment up with 1000 pages of rules defining what words a Government agency will allow you to speak, do you think there would be a few pissed off folks? The 2A is the step child of the amendments because it keeps all the other amendments in check and it isn't intended to protect the hunting of food. The leftists are so entitled and obtuse and they don't realize their ability to speak openly in public is protected only because conservatives own millions of guns.

Here’s some information on building the bridge frame with tool suggestions . It does take extra time to do but it’ definitely doable, gets easier with each attempt . The frame is inexpensive and available. Use the MGB videos in the resource center as a guide. Builders that are used to the 80% frame don’t seem to have interest in working the new ones. As you haven’t built one yet you may enjoy the challenge of it. I know I did so have many others. If I could get more I’d build one of every color. You will need a jig as they done come with one. I can suggest getting a jig that has the metal drill inserts in case you get addicted to building the 76% and want 1 of each color. 😊.

PS- many 80% frames were touted to be too hard to do, chewed up with tooling, before MGB came along with his how to videos.
Here’s some good ones-

Here’s a very nice 76%- don’t let anyone deter you from trying to build one

Text from the builder-
Well I first started of by using the snips to work away at the waffle cutting at all the connected points. Then snipped little by little till most of the waffle material was gone. Once I could go no further with the snips I used my Dremel and the bigger bit to takeout more material. The flex shaft came in clutch for getting deeper into the pocket. Once most of the material was removed I used the files and some of the sanding wheels. I would test fit the rear rails here and there to see what needed to be done. I had some emery board cut a little piece of that and worked it in there. The smaller bits I used for the edges to try and give them a more defined shape. It took me about 2 hours to get to this point.

Reviewing the photos you've uploaded, I'm curious if P80 ever released instructions online that said you need a blowtorch to complete their 80% frames? Must be the 10 minute method Biden suggested. 🤔

Well, that got sidetracked a bit.
I found some wood working chisel bits that I can mark the depth with a marker on the drill bit. Should work great in a drill press.
The key with doing 80% plastic frames and lowers is taking your time and avoid the temptation of that Dremel that's on the workbench. Exacto razor knife will clean up edges better. Also small files and good lighting in your work area help more than anything else. Those tips I learned while working for a Gunsmith a decade ago.

My mantra for removing / finishing plastic has also been "TAKE YOUR TIME." Go slowly... super-slowly. Newbies are in a hurry to get their gun finished. That's not how you attain MGB's famous goal: First Time Quality! FTQ! Perhaps we should add to that... "FTQ FTW!"

Though admittedly, I use the Dremel for most of it. But you can also go very slowly with a Dremel. Work in very small increments with a very light touch. But a lot of people have trouble with that. They crank it up and push hard. That's a big mistake. The same rules apply with hand tools... slow and light!

I think this was the very first entry in the Resources section:
How to Not Booger up Your 80% Pistol Frame

Band file with multiple grits, Dremel with multiple bits, large and small flat end cutting pliers, and drill/press for the win.

I could fix that.

After seeing some of these pics I'm glad mine came out better. But I wasn't working on a P80.
