What ya listening to?

Ok now, this drummer friend of mine (we go back over 40 years) sent me this clip yesterday and I knew some of you would enjoy this. It's so nice to be able to see this historical greatness when we could not see it at the time...this was from the 2112 Support tour that became material for "All the World's A Stage"...yessss! Neil's concert toms (the small ones) are cracking like cannons...just EXPLOSIVE.....Geddy's voice is in TOP form- and this was way, WAY before any kind of artificial "enhancements" that too many today lean on. NO backing tracks, no MIDI programming, no Auto-Tune....all raw REAL talent....

Great songs, great talent. Great choice in guitars, too.

Sadly, I think he sunk his own career- one particular appearance (I think it was on SNL, but I can't be sure) WHILE seemingly an unstoppable juggernaught, he was in the middle of a number and swaggered over to one of his other male musicians, and planted lip-lock right on the lips and then sauntered off. It was pretty gross, and especially for that time, very shocking. IMO it's the untold truth of why his career quickly faded after that. JMO.

Really? I did a search, can't find it.

I don't think you'll find anyone openly discussing it, as it's politically incorrect. But I saw it myself. Instantly a turn off. Yuck. I was absolutely shocked.

Ain't nothing that happened on TV that can't be found online now. Literally nothing. But so far, I can't find it. Not saying it didn't happen. But it's gotta be out there somewhere.

I found one Squier SNL performance video. Introduced by Ed Begley. But there was no kiss. Though the video cut at the end of the song.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s been removed or that section edited-out. It happens later in the song, and I can’t recall just which one it was.

No it wasn't the SNL appearance. But nevertheless, it was pretty shocking. Methinks it's been swept under the rug.

Like others - their procliviites are in spite of their talent. So many. I really liked his material on the first album or so.

That factoid seems to have been sanitized from history.

Remember his prior group, PIPER? A great band.

The comments below Racer's X post delve into why Squire became non-famous. I think it was his "Rock Me Tonight" video where he tried to compete with that superpower Simmons... :D
