Who knew about these frames? "Grit Grips."

I've decided to swap out the trigger for a Johnny Glock. Probably go with the combat version.
Grit Grips comes with their version of a Gen 4 mag catch. But in a video released at the January Shot Show, their rep said that their frame could take any of the stock mag catches. Do you think a Gen 3 would fit in that space? I really like the extended Gen 3 stock mag catch lever.

$200 bucks just went to Johnny. I thought about it again and decided to go with the competition trigger. My trigger discipline is very refined and I will never carry this pistol as my EDC. Duty/Carry is optimal at about 4.5-5 lbs. This competition trigger is 3.5.

I gave some serious thought to the 4311, which Johnny designed to emulate Browning's world famous 1911 trigger. It was another 80 bucks. This is not a fancy gun. I was reluctant to replace the trigger at all. I changed my mind. I do like the Grit Grip. Maybe I'll put a better slide on it to go with this upgrade trigger. It wont shoot any better with a different slide but it will look nicer.

You would need the Gen 4 mag release.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the JG trigger @Bongo Lewi
Johnny can do miracles with a trigger. But not all miracles are valuable and he says that himself. He can give you what you want, if you know what you want. I think the biggest issue is the dislike of pre-travel in the Glock trigger. Yes, it's long and sloppy.... but so what. The thing that matters is having a crisp, short reset at the weight you want. Most shots, whether in competition or self defense, will be from reset. So that is what needs to be tuned. I view a longer pre-travel as a safety feature that makes it less likely that you will have an unintended discharge. JG has said exactly that.

Received the GG magwell today. Really like the grip, very comfortable in your hand.

GG is thinking of putting out, a limited run of these frames.

I cant do white. I dont know why. The white Stehr and Kris Vector (a.k.a. storm trooper) look cool on a wall at the LGS but shooting while skiing has not been on my to-do list or resume. Although I have been to Finland a number of times. :)

I think it's because I dont ever want to live anywhere where it snows. I had enough of that as a kid. I f---ing hate cold weather!

She was a very funny lady. Riding her man-slaves on the stage... hilarious.
Just as outrageous in person too. Conversely, her first husband was comic Emo Phillips, who was nothing like his act in person.

I did not know they were married! Emo's act was an acquired taste for sure. At first I didn't like it at all. But then I got it. He was playing a character... much like Paul Reubens was playing a character (Peewee Herman)... or like Larry the Cable guy.

Emo's real name is Phil. He and one of my brothers were friends in college. He was a frequent guest at our house in the summertime.

Not at all like his act. Years later I landed a summer intern gig in LA when I was in school. And repeated that the summer after. If he wasn't on the road someplace I would drop in. Last time I saw him we went to Pinks and got hot dogs. He was married to Judy then. That was '89 or thereabout. I haven't seen or heard from him in many years.
