Wildlife in your back yard? Post'em here!

Last week I went down to the street to collect the garbage bin and gathered up a few pieces of litter in the yard that escaped the truck. As I got close to a tree near the street, I could hear buzzing and witnessed this!

So the wife got in contact with a beekeeper who said he would try to come get them but it wouldn't be until later. About an hour later I went down to look at the bees again and THEY WERE GONE! The wife called the beekeeper to see if he had got them and he had not. Apparently they flew away on their own. I looked around the yard and didn't see any swarming.
OMG that’s a huge swarm. Check the south side of the eaves for any crawling on the house. If they find a hole they dive in really quickly

That's a spooky uninvited attraction. Esp if they are those mean suckers.

A couple days ago, we were walking the dog in a park. Up ahead, I saw something drop from a high tree branch. It was green, so I thought it was a branch with leaves. But as we got closer... it's a critter. And he was apparently stunned from the impact on the sidewalk. I was able to get close for some photos:

His body was about 10 inches, I'd say. His head was about the size of half my fist.

I was able to query a friend of mine who knows his reptiles. It's a non-native lizard called a Cuban Knight Anole. Good thing I didn't touch or pick him up... they bite!

We have green and brown anoles. Not quite as large at maybe 4" nose-to-tail. They don't usually bite but the more reptilian (vs lizardian) purple skinks about the same size WILL bite. The cat has probably eaten about 1000 of each...😄
