Building the new Bridge (76%) frame ?

And a 380 HiPoint (I swear I have a good reason for how I ended up with that gun! That's kinda a story in itself, another time perhaps)
A Hi-Point you say?
You and @Bongo Lewi are gonna be buddys! 😋
I reload shotshells (I'm a sporting clays shooter) but brass is out of my depth. It's on my life list to learn more about that, tho.
Me too. Browning 425 12ga. with Briley tubes in .410 just for fun.

Metallic reloading has similarities to shotshell, but there are differences that need to be learned.

Cue Mission Impossible theme.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to read these threads and learn the basics. Afterwards, if you have questions, ask away.

I'm saving that tedious experiment for when I build my ultimate dream AR chambered in 22 short. You heard me. I'm just waiting for forced reset triggers to be back on the menu in FL. Then I'm gonna call it the Hummingbird. 😁
As someone who has built a 22LR AR, I'm curious as to why 22 Short? Velocity wise, it's the same as CCI SV, but SV hits harder due to a heavier bullet. Just seems like the same goal with more steps.

There's a thread about the build if you're interested.

Nice 😊

My first centerfire handgun was a Glock 42, PeaGlock I call it. (I name all my guns 😉). It was my EDC until just a few months ago. I live in Florida and we recently upgraded our 2A rights to open carry. I haven't gone full open in the wild yet, still attracts too much attention, but the upgrade means I no longer care about printing, so now I'm rocking Aardvark (Glock 26). I know what you're thinking, G26 is not that big, but it's not as easy for us gals to conceal our guns in a Florida wardrobe as it is for you guys!

I've traded a knowing nod or two with fellow carriers in the checkout line at the grocery store. Nobody around here cares about printing anymore, just about proper retention, and of course keeping your firearm under your clothes helps with that. I've test driven a shoulder holster under an unzipped windbreaker where people facing me could easily see it and had no problems. We're getting there. It's like when you've been in a dark cave for years, the full sunlight takes some getting used to!

I also have a EAA Girsan 14T - (let me tell you, THAT'S a neat little toy!) And a 380 HiPoint (I swear I have a good reason for how I ended up with that gun! That's kinda a story in itself, another time perhaps) And now my little Spirit of '76.

As for the 380 AR, it's kinda already breen done. Sort of.

TFB TV profiled one made by Black Creek, I've been in communication with them and I'm on their list for a bolt and barrel (the guy who did their fabrication had some medical issues for awhile).

So I don't really need to experiment with drilling out the bolt to make it lighter. I'm saving that tedious experiment for when I build my ultimate dream AR chambered in 22 short. You heard me. The first centerfire "long gun" I got, early pandemic era, was their 10mm carbine in white kryptek yeti. Crackers I call it 😄 I love that gun! What I loved most about it when I first got it and was still learning to shoot is that the 10mm rounds leave a large enough hole in a plain paper target that I could actually see where I was hitting at 25 yds (huge upgrade over my previous Henry 22 ). That HiPoint was worth every penny. It's been awesome.

Glad to see a Hi-Point fangirl joining. They make dependable, honest guns for the unpretentious among us.

I have some fancy guns. But I am not too proud to own and shoot a Hi-Point. As you mention, Inexpensive, incredibly reliable and as accurate as it needs to be. Can't beat the lifetime no questions asked warranty either. I have shot the carbine in 9mm but don't own one. I do have a Yeet Cannon that I bought for yuks but grew fond of. I'll spare everyone a repeat of my Hi-Point shooting contest story.

FWIW, I started naming my sidearms recently. I think what started it is when I acquired a FN Reflex in FDE. 'Jif' just seemed appropriate. hehe

Another is the P226 Legion- 'Brutus'. And so forth. mine aren't as creative names as yours. lol. AARDVARK is hilarious. I love it.

And on the CC note: no, the G19 isn't proportionally that BIG of a weapon....until you factor-in its girth. As all DS Glocks, they all share the same fault in that area. G26 is just as thick, so yes, printing, esp for females can really be a challenge. That's why my wife got the P365 in lieu of her always carrying her SDR revolver (or her G26 clone). Viva la difference!

It's great to have you active and posting, Polomare!

if it's accurate, goes bang every time, and with that warranty and priced modestly, what's to complain about, right?

But. I guess we can all have our limits... that S&W .40 SD40VE of mine is butt-ugly AND has a terrible trigger, and has little monetary value, so it will likely stay in the safe forever....and I don't shoot anything with an extended pinky.

Reloading threads bookmarked, sir! 🫡

22 short is my ultimate fantasy AR build because I don't just want to make an AR that shoots exclusively 22 short.

I want to make a *miniature* AR.

From scratch.

And yes it will necessarily have to be an SBR, even though it won't look like it proportionately.

I have a 0% block of 6061 aluminum.
Access to a cnc machine.
And a lot of blind ambition.

(Also, I have 3 autoloading pistols chambered in 22 short, but no autoloading rifle. I consider that to be a glaring deficit in my collection.)

It might be a "grass is greener on that side of the fence" thing but it seems like women are constructed with more hiding places than men, even in summer wardrobe...

That is quite an ambitious goal indeed!
You WILL make a thread about your machining/building journey, won't you? 😇
Thankfully, after tomorrow, it will no longer cost you $200 for the privilege.

the corset of course is a help, but also the un-tucked blouse...it's why many of us guys not AIWB carrying will wear a loose shirt or jacket...

AIWB works fine, but I will NOT have a loaded gun consistently pointed at my exterior plumbing

Exactly. I love the corporate attitude of that company. I was newly following them on Twitter during the whole Yeet Cannon naming episode. What a hoot! They have absolutely no pretention whatsoever about their niche in the firearms industry. I love that and just had to support it.

I was happy with just the Crackers carbine, didn't think I'd ever have a use for one of their bulky pistols... but a funny thing happened on the way to shooting 380 suppressed...

I bought a JK Armament CCX can. If you don't know what it is, look it up, it's pretty cool, but has a very specific use case. It's ultra lightweight and doesn't require a piston or neilson device to run on a handgun (allegedly). I knew exactly what I was buying when I got it, but now I kinda wish I hadn't bought it (through no fault of the can itself). I bought it back when I was still CCW'ing my PeaGlock, and there is a company called Lone Wolf that made a threaded barrel for the G42. My idea was, I could shoot my carry gun suppressed in the back yard once a week to keep my skills sharp (I live in a rural area, it's allowed here). But Lone Wolf stopped making the barrel, and all efforts to obtain a threaded barrel for a G42 elsewhere failed.

So now I've got this mini can that I can't really use for anything else. It didn't run great on my Glock 9's with subsonic ammo due to Glock's very tight lockup, it really needs a special ramped barrel to run, and even then, it only runs sluggishly. And I'm still thinking I really want to shoot suppressed 380 in the back yard. Brain storm! Hi Point joins the chat!!! HP's are fixed barrel direct blowback of course. No unlocking barrel means no piston needed, and the gun runs ahmazing suppressed! It's just a shame I can't really build my defensive skills with it because the HP has such a drastically different feel to the trigger and grip than the Glock does. But it's still fun to shoot at bowling pins in the backyard.

If you haven't looked at one, the G43X has the same foot print as the G43 with the pinky extension on the mag.
If you pair it with the PSA Micro Dagger magazine, you get 15+1 instead of 10+1.
Slimmer than the G26 and appendix is doable with an IWB.

Here's the PF9SS stacked on the 43X.

My plumbing's interior, and I still don't want it pointed there! 😂

Thanks for the pics. 43x is definitely a nice and slender alternative. But I actually don't mind a pinky ledge on my mags, I have small hands and the 26, with a pinky ledge, actually locks my hand in nice and tight. Because I've got hips, I find the 43x longer pistol grip harder to conceal than a thicker gun with a shorter grip. I know, that's counter-intuitive, but it's what I've found for my body type.

Being you are skilled with CNC, (I assume this also means a lathe) you could do what I did to thread a Kimber 22 conversion unit for a 1911. Get a second barrel and thread an extension onto the end, then thread the extension for the suppressor.

Might also want to consider the REFLEX (double stack) if it interests you. Excellent trigger, btw.. Mine is in a Don Hume G43 holster- very close to the same size and it fits excellent.

as far as the G26 and its clones- IME the Glock extended mags are both ugly and uncomfortable. While other mag extensions for the G26 mags work well, I have a preference for the Strike Industries EMP+ for G26, as it not only gives you two rounds, but it's a better ergonomic fit for your hand....the extention goes farther back to the end of the grip, and is rounded, and gives your meaty part of the palm towards your wrist more support and comfort, while most other extensions (including Glock's) are chopped-off short at the rear of the mag. In that regard, I too would rather have my pinky under the OEM 10-round mag, than to have that stubby extension that doesn't ergonomically work with the heel of your hand at all- just nothing there. BTW- the mag ext you see I've installed some Talon Grip that I fitted with a template I made, to give a bit more continuity with the Hogue grip.
