When I was working in DC, almost every morning when getting a coffee after I got off the Metro I would run into Al Franken in a deli on K street. This was long before he was a senator. I assumed he was living in DC. He was a total jerk to the deli staff and people who recognized him. Several times, I politely said good morning to him and he didn't reply. Henceforth I just stared at him, which made him noticeably uncomfortable.
 
He was probably scared you were a family member of the reporter who he grabbed some tittie when she was asleep on a USO plane. But that was OK because he's a democrat. Different rules and all.

He literally posed for the photo. What a piece of shit. Too bad she didn't wake up in time to plant her fist on his face. Same goes for the dude on her left... If he had woken up to see it.

I can't recall when he did that - if it was before or after my encounters. Suffice it to say the dude is a tool. Then and now. Classic affluent liberal. Rules are for everyone else.

He is fully exposed for a well placed kick to the wedding tackle. I just wish she had woken up in time. I think she is entitled to a free groin kick if she ever sees him again. Lifetime benefit.

In forth grade, my daughter learned, innocently and very much by accident, the effectiveness of a groin shot to a boy. They were playing at recess. A boy came running at her like he was going to hug her or tackle her. At the last second, she raised her knee to block him and landed a direct hit. He went down like a sack of potatoes crying and puking. The girls were gathered wondering why he wasn't getting up. The boys were thinking he was a wimp for not getting up. The next day, after each side had time for a carefully worded anatomy lesson, they all had a deeper understanding of how things work. The boy's Mom was pissed at me but I (diplomatically) explained that he took one for the team and ALL the boys were a lot smarter now about protecting that area. The girls were a lot smarter about a possible way way to get away from someone attacking them. The crusty old teacher in charge just shrugged and said "I bet he won't do that again"

Franken was a SNL staff writer and producer for a long time before appearing on the show. Something like 20 years. One of the guys deciding what's funny and what isn't. The #2 guy after Lorne Michaels.

Cum laude Harvard grad, descended from German and Russian Jews.

The Ivy League schools have cranked out a lot of Frankens in the past 50 years. Most of them end up in finance, entertainment, mass media, or politics. And we wonder why the system is screwed up or leans so far to the left.

Look in the bright side. That 'joke' cost him his Senate seat , which probably was worth tens of millions over a period of years. As we know, they all get rich while in office. Now he's damaged goods. Speaking gigs are probably far and few between now.
