Fair enough - I did just review your various replies. They have a tone of supporting restrictions (not saying that's what you intended just how I interpreted some of the comments especially related to kids and access). A lot of context can get lost in just reading text in an email or on a forum.

I don't "support" any concessions. I see us in many ways loosing this battle on many levels and I'm trying to make their job as hard as I can!!! At some point we need to stop giving them the rope they're using to hang us and figure out how to reverse the further subversion of the Constitution.
As someone actually in the Trenches of this fight I get irritated at the keyboard nothing's and their Shall not be Infringed and Muh Rites but never raise a finger to reverse this course. America is nearly lost. We are at the end of Tytler's Cycle. All you need to do is look around.

Completely different company, no baggage. And, hire someone that has a clue about customer service. Any other ideas?

I got into buying from P80 "late" in the game. And my purchases were actually from vendors/distributors--I dont' think I've bought from P80 directly. They did send me a "warranty" front block for a PF940SC because I had to modify the original to get the slide to go into battery and I wanted a "new" one for down the road, if needed. I do recall that was a quick and easy transaction.

Outside looking in, I suppose the writing was on the wall when other companies starting getting into the game and P80 stopped offering the variety they used to (ie: smooth frames, white frames, etc.). I regret spending the money for their parts kits but they were often "giveaways" during BF sales.

Sadly, I think the Bidet admin has been successful in getting 80% companies/distributors to limit production/go out of business. Don't forget they have cadres of lawyers and to defend against piles of lawsuits, such companies have to hire their own lawyers at great expense, and that hits the bottom line negatively.

Replying to the off-topic comments above, and in no particular order:

• Quoting from any of the slimedia news outlets/websites will bring ridicule upon you--check your sources!
• To spin the story, note slimedia's use of "kids" and "teenagers" to describe gang-bangers killing themselves off. And the use of the most inocuous photos of the "victims" to propagandize their point home. This is designed to tug at the heartstrings of the emotional sub-intelligents who populate such areas. I have zero empathy or sympathy for thugs in their teens (or younger) killing themselves off in this fashion. Or their failed parents. They are likely to end up in prison or dead eventually--the sooner the better! I DO care when they are using self-made firearms as it makes US look bad.
• ALL gunowners should stick together or we will ALL lose our rights. Don't care about self-made firearms? Don't build one. Don't have a need for a pistol because you only hunt quail? They will be coming for your shotgun soon enough. Don't have a need for an AR because all you need is a bolt-action for hunting? Don't worry, they will be coming for your "sniper rifle" next.

Yes, Polymer80 could stand to better their customer service. Shipping sometimes can take forever and you feel like you've won the lottery if you get someone to answer an email.


I don't want to cast doubt on the veracity of anyone's claims against Polymer80, but I keep seeing claims, like the one in the original post

Because as of Oct 2022, Polymer80 no longer did retail orders.

I know there were some snafus when that took place and some people did have to wait a ridiculous time in some cases for a refund, but as far as I know no one lost money.

I also know from other groups that some people can't understand that a Polymer80 ordered from a retailer is not the responsibility of Polymer80, as far as shipping and availability are concerned.

I also know that there are many Scam sites out there that spoof legitimate sites and people sometimes get scammed when they think they're ordering from Polymer80 or several different other legitimate sites. I've seen it with Polymer80, Vortex, 80-lower, GhostGunner and many others.

Like I 1st stated, Polymer80 does have a Customer service problem, but I think a lot of claims are either bogus or someone got ripped off at a scam site. I am especially wary of the claims that they never received an email confirmation. I've ordered many times from Polymer80 and those confirmations are immediate and computer generated upon payment. It's the same at 99% of the sites I shop.
If you don't get a confirmation, I'd start looking at the site.

True... but also not what ended up happening in practice. As I recall, P80 had a big sale (direct purchase), after that announcement, in order to raise money for legal fees. A lot of people placed orders - direct from P80. And a lot of those people never got their orders.

Yes, they did offer a direct sale to support the cause after the ban was lifted. They continue to send me emails letting me know about something on sale at their site, the last email was a week ago. If they switched to a retailer only model, nobody told the direct sales side about it. Further evidence of dysfunction there.

To add insult, I tried to buy a part from another vendor this week. I was flagged as a high risk by the credit card processor because I had made a claim in the past. The seller wanted a bunch of personal information I wasn't willing to send. I sent him an email explaining that I ordered from him before and never returned anything. I mentioned my P80 saga and I did dispute a charge there after waiting 6 months and no response from P80. He said he uses the same card processor as P80, that would explain it. My parts are in the mail.

It was for a sale on parts. A slide I believe. I kind of like the look of their slides so I clicked on the link. It was a dead end. I couldn't find the part or a sale price for anything on the website and looked for a few days.

I testify on gun bills, I've lobbied Congress, I've organized rallies, I built Bikers for Trump MD/DC which got me invited to his Country Clubs, Rallys, Events in the VIP section. You're right. I did some research and found out, that was a pre-sale and it was forever before they went into production. After going into production a problem was discovered with the rails or at least that's the Official line. Took forever to solve the problem, but finally got it right. Sent emails to assure folks they would be getting their frames soon.
