The requested work thread...

In that same vein...
I agree with Morgan Shepherd on his disdain for black history month for the same reasons he cites. If you haven't seen the 60 Minutes clip where he puts Mike Wallace on defense during the interview, it's worth watching just to see ole Mike being the one flustered for a change.

Anyway, all during the month of February, the Gen Y snots previously mentioned are in charge of sending out touchy feely emails all month highlighting people who epitomize, not the accomplishments of noteworthy black people, but being a victim in one form or another that gave them their 15 minutes of fame.
I decided to send the head Gen Y snot a couple of recommendations for candidates to feature who actually were noteworthy by anyone's measure and should have at least had a documentary made about them if not a feature film. (links below)

As expected, no reply, and the end of the month has passed and no sign of either of them being mentioned.

In his famous speech, MLK said, "I dream of a day when my children will be judged, not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

I find it quite ironic that the opposite is now being celebrated.

Robert Smalls

Eugene Bullard

LeVar Burton and Courtney Vance should play the parts. You'll see why when you see their pics.

It seems there is a biopic film on Smalls in the works, but a release date has not been set. The title is "Steal Away".

So once I get approval and parts to repair the TRX, I'll get another video, but the fluid I drained out the transfer case looked like a unicorn had the runs. black and full of glitter. The fluid in the transfer case is supposed to be a bright red ( similar to transmission fluid ). So yes, as I expected, it's toast. I even told the advisor, warranty does NOT apply. Its obvious abuse.

In my 20's I worked with a guy named Frank that bought himself a brand new Toyota Camry. He loved that car. It was his first brand new vehicle. One day frank comes out of his apt and it's gone. He reports the theft and a few days later the cops call and say they have his car in the police impound lot.

It was all smashed up because it ws driven over rocks and thru stands off trees. Every part of the body was messed up. He was heartbroken. Then he looked inside and whoever stole it took a shit on the driver seat. Frank was now full of rage. To make matters worse the insurance chose to not total it and it was repaired. He couldn't afford to get rid of it. He could not get that shit out of his head. Literally. He was obsessed. He had Post Traumatic Shit Syndrome. If anybody brought up the car theft he would come unhinged. It got so bad I told him to go see the company shrink.

How is it an obvious case of abuse? What could they have done to abuse the transfer case?
Maybe towing it behind an RV? Not all vehicles can be towed even if the transfer case be put in Neutral.

Driving on pavement in 4x4 is not good for the drivetrain unless designed for it. Some form of center differential needed. Not sure what Toyota has. Drove a Tacoma once in a 4 hr drive in DC traffic. Most miserable ride ever. No thanks.

Ok but how do you prove what they did caused the damage? Driving a 4x4 on pavement shouldn’t cause an issue to void a warranty and if it caused damage the 4x4 system is junk.

Towed vehicles (Toad in the RVer lingo)usually have hitch welded or bolted to the frame. Pretty obvious.

The differential, drive shafts and axles still turn when towed. If not designed to be towed, the various parts don't get lubricated and run dry or overheat.

The front axle a back axle turn at different speeds. The parts that allow that add complexity. Complexity fails more than simple. Off roaders like it when stuff doesn't break.

I don't design them, I just read the manual.

Yeah... I know AWD Subarus (which is all of them) have to be flat-bedded.

Not sure who would tow a TRX and everything you are saying is conjecture. Not sure how a dealership could refuse warranty based on abuse because a tech said so. Someone with the funds to buy a TRX is going to lawyer up quickly and it will be very hard to prove the owner was negligent and the damage occurred at relatively low mileage. Now, if they had massively oversized or undersized tires, had taken it to 1k hp and there were videos of the owner abusing, may be easier to prove. Gonna be hard to prove with bad fluid and metal bits in the differential

Without doing the research, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are many other owners suffering from the same fate on their TRX. Massive hp, heavy 4wd vehicle, big tires, stuff is going to wear. If the manufacturer did not put in durable enough components that were upgraded for a vehicle like this, things will break.

Did a quick search and it seems there are a bunch of TRX owners with differential issues. Not applicable to the TRX in question, below, but makes you pause and think this may not be a customer issues. How many warranties were denied because a tech said it was abuse but turned out the factory did not put enough differential fluid in at the factory.

Off-road driving is something the average schlub knows nothing about. I have witnessed lots of vehicles give their lives because the driver was a nitwit who didn't understand the fundamentals. Usually a hold my beer type. Often with a brand new truck. Or SUV. Broken transmissions, rollovers, and the #1 cause of vehicle death ... transmission fires that cannot be extinguished. In an hour the car is gone. Just a rusty shell.

I cant leave home without driving off-road. My other property to the east is ten miles from the nearest paved road. This kind of driving is really hard on any vehicle. Especially if you drive like a jackass.

I'm not an auto mechanic, but have serious doubts about a transfer case on a RAM grinding itself up because nobody did anything. Uh huh. Like the guy who tells his insurance company a tree jumped into the road and he couldn't avoid hitting it.

4wd high and going down the highway, racing, etc… the tire rubber stuck in all the wheel wells, the emissions stuff being deleted, and the tuner is a strong clue. No warranty. He’s stuck paying for this.

Hey guys/ladies, if yall would subscribe to the YouTube channel that would be great. Being as I have to upload them there anyway to post em here
