The requested work thread...

Didnt really think to make any type of content today. Was slammed trying to get customers cars done and upgrading gears/axles on my truck at the same time. (all while knowing I had to have mine done to drive it home from work). Today was stressful to say the least

"shoulda bought a six cylinder"--they don't come with V-8s? ;)

My neighbor has a 2010? Patriot 2WD. His wife cooked the engine tooling down the highway. Light came on, steam came from under the hood and that was it. Quickly blew the head gasket. Sitting in the side of his yard, he's offering it to me for $500 as-is. 3.7s dime-a-dozen around here--I open the hood, then close it--it's a 4.6--no thank you... ;)

You can get a Wrangler with a V8. If you want to pay 90+ grand.

My biggest dislike about the Jeep is they feel underpowered. If I could have got an 8 in my Gladiator I'd be happier. The trend is moving away from 8 cylinders with all makers it seems. I'd rather have a bigger engine than a turbo or some other options in a six or even a four. I really dont give a shit about gas milage. I dont drive that much I want power, not fuel efficiency.

When I trade in the Jeeps I will likely replace them with a V8 4x4 pickup.

I loved my M3 with the V8. Quieter and smooth running. The Turbo 6 BMW has now doesnt thrill me. They have no V8s in their lineup anymore.

Shit, there's a trend now for THREE-cylinders in cars! That's just weird to me.... to have an odd number of cylinders.

Same, same! It's why I got the turbo version (260 hp 2.4-l 4-cyl) of the Outback recently. But I'm averaging 22 mpg, which isn't bad for a 4,000-lb SUV that will "giddy-up!" 0 - 60 in 6.0 seconds.

My 2004 Subaru STI (turbo 2.5-l 4-cyl that put out 300 HP from the factory) averaged about 16 mpg around town! LOL! I once calculated the mileage I got on the track (road course with lots of braking and turns and speeds up to 130+ mph).... FIVE mpg!

My priority for a car is that it will GO when I need it to go. Under-powered cars SUCK.

Bongo is on point. As expected considering we are both Gladiator owners.... I actually have a savings account started just for the truck. When the timing and savings account is correct, mine is getting a 392 swap... I actually already have the longblock. It came out a 2500 Ram

Yeah, I'm not interested in the 4 cylinder turbo in pickups either
After buying my first 6.2 in 2014 I cannot even go back to the 5.3

It isn't tree huggers and green initiatives that are going to kill the ICE. It's the car makers. They cant produce a car that isn't a piece of shit anymore.

I've seen the future - and it's the spawn of golf carts. Electric motors are the new prime mover.

Yeah, 'cuz EVs have a remarkably good reliability record. Not.

Maybe not EVs. Yet. But electric motors do. They make everything in the world move. The ICE is on its way out. It’s a slow process.

You couldn't just pop the hose on the engine and make a quick .4? ;)
They wanted me to pressure test the cooling system. But yeah, I reluctantly threw the hose on, charged em a 1.5hr rate and called it a stupidity fee. If they have the tools to tear down that whole front end, they could’ve installed a cooling hose.

The book says 1.5. Not his fault that the entire front is off the car and he didn't even have to bend over to get to it. Not sure how you pressure test shit that isn't there? AI pressure test I guess. Imagine it is so and it is so.
