I made my own metal bushing jig just like you did. Mine, while accurate, was a bit crude. I'd love to see your version if you have any pictures. Sorry about the subject drift ...
 
Any good ways to restore the color to the polymer that you have to file, I've read on reddit some people tried vegetable oil, figured I'd ask around.

I haven't seen any change in color from filing. But I did get the "white lines" when I used a fret cutter on the rail tabs on my first build. That was the last time I used fret cutters. Not a functional problem... just cosmetic. But it bugged me. I was not able to get rid of the blemishes.

Used a mini exacto saw on my tabs, works really well and gives a clean cut, I saved every bit of polymer from the grid in the back too, that way if you need to ever make a repair, melt it down into a paste with a heat wand and apply away!
The lower parts kit and front rails finally came in too also, so I'll be likely sharing photos of that today too.
All of it is a really solid fit, only thing I'm still waiting on is that dld jig lol

Also that piece of plastic that is to the left of where the top of the mag rests, is that supposed to be removed? I've seen people leave it on was just curious if it mattered or not.

Talking about this nub of plastic on the left wall here
Its behind the slide stop, I usually remove it personally cause one time I left it and the magazine was crooked when it was clicked in place, after removal it sat straight, I noticed this on someone who left it in place on reddit with a magazine in it too, it also was sitting crooked in the exact same way mine did when I tried that originally. Figured I'd double check tho as it doesn't hurt.

Cause all of my builds have this removed as I thought it was an obstruction in the magwell.

And if you aren't supposed to remove this, it won't affect anything will it?

Pretty sure I've seen others remove it too in the past

I'm twisting my head trying to figure out where that is on the frame. It's cropped in too tight. I honestly have no idea what or where that is.

But to my knowledge, not even the 76% frames have any sort of "block" or obstruction in the magwell.

Its a piece of plastic that protrudes from the left wall right next to the magwell

You can see where it is more clearly here
I typically removed this or smoothed it out flush with the wall thinking it was an obstruction for the magazine that needed to be cleared

I know for a fact there are no obstructions in the magwell in an 80% frame. And I believe that is true for the 76% frames.

I'm not at home with access to my frames at the moment. But no... I would not remove that.

whoops.. well now I know to leave that alone on future builds.
Hopefully that doesn't affect anything, I don't think it should as the magazine still sits correctly when its inserted.
 
Looking at that, it seems it was designed to keep the magazine in the housing but it is not needed as the ejector will do the same. You could probably leave it as it doesn't look like it would interfere with anything.

Yeah I removed it not realizing that on builds so far thinking it was an obstruction that needed to be cleared, but yeah I don't imagine it'll truly cause an issue since it's such a minor thing and it's not a critical point of function. I'll just likely leave it alone going forward in that case, no big deal.
Just as long as it doesn't affect anything that's fine.

those saw blades are nice eh ? Yes, I agree with everyone, leave that area as is. There are only 3 obstruction areas on the bridge that are not on an 80%. Those areas affect front (2 obstruction areas) and rear (whole gridded area) locking block; plus drilling the front block pin hole.

Yeah cause i accidentally removed that slab of plastic on most of my builds not realizing it wasnt an obstruction lol, they should all still run fine though

I think it is a limit stop for the magazine when inserting.

Ended up doing this, turned out very nicely, super tight fit too so that pin's not going nowhere.
On the last and final step of the RSA now, will post photos of the finished product very soon!
