76% Guidance

Well.. Here she is...

The RSA area also looks very clean, the front hole came out clean too although the drill did kick the floor where the block leg rests along the way slightly leaving ugly scratches, but it's not visible when assembled so it doesn't really matter.

On the side I did have to trim down one of the front block holes on the rails themselves as they were slightly bent out of spec but once the pin is seated all the way its tight as shit and bolts right down flush with the frame. The new DLD jig though is dead accurate though, compared to the black one I used a few years back on my first 76, this one had the holes so tight initially I had to ream them out by hand with the drill bit.

Trigger housing isn't quite as flush a fit as an 80 would be, but it still is enough that it seats down and will allow the slide to function, as this is the case with my other 76 too, just seems to be the way they are.
Nevertheless, still pins in place without hammering like crazy or anything, but is a nice snug fit too.

There is a bare sliver of metal showing on the left flat part of the rear rail, however it's barely visible, I notice some rails just seem to be ever so slightly mis-molded in that area as I have an 80 where the rail is straight but that normally flat metal part is at an angle, so that shouldn't be any problem at all.
While filing the pocket out I did accidentally shave some material from the wall on the side the bar rests on but again, all cosmetic stuff, I just have a very good eye for detail lol

The Sliver of metal I refer to, seems like it could just be extra material. Doesn't seem to be anything of concern though as my 80 has a similar slight bit of metal, not even the whole length showing that appears to be extra material, as everything else lines up fine.

Invested in a Dremel work station for all future projects going forward after this one for perfect precession.
While this came out nicely on this one by hand, the work station will just make it so much easier.

Looky what I got! Challenge accepted! Now I've just got to strategize on how I can make this look "factory!"

I think that's going to be the key. Go SLOWLY. I just ordered some nippers and micro-knives from Micro-Mark.

Or I could royally FUBAR it! LOL!

Maybe I'll try to record it to video.

I always did holes first and then tabs. Left the jig on while I did the tabs as it offered extra protection for the frame and served as a guide so you do not remove too much material.

Just hope we don’t hear that you are naked in a bell tower with a high powered rifle while rocking back and forth saying “I hate 76% frames” over and over.

Save your money. The squirrel is going to die anyway.

There is no way to replicate a factory frame from a 76er. It may work ok, but will always look like a bodge.

Future home of all 76% frames:
