SAFETY WARNING! Freedom Wolf Rails Can Come Loose!

Holy crap!
My mother was one of those elderly, 15 mph in a 35, with her blinker on drivers. Probably an advantage in this case. When I explained to her the wheel nuts were missing and it was a miracle she didn't have some kind of mishap, it was like explaining the fundamental theorem of calculus. She wasn't even listening. She said your father took care of those things. <sigh>

Oh well, like I mentioned everybody has weighed in and there's little more to say about the uncertain future of @Bobster 's face or hands :)

Freedom Wolf? None. The fact remains that the frame described in the OP failed. It doesn't matter that there was no injury in this case. The forensics regarding why are unknown. Which is what opens the possibility that a greater failure was possible. It appears certain that the adhesive failed. That is absolutely a design flaw. Bad batch of adhesive... possible but unlikely.

Bobster is more astute gun enthusiast than the average schlub who bought one of those kits. How many of those did nitwits on Reddit buy? Those who cant drill a hole in a frame without buggering it. What happens when their glue fails? Will they even notice the rails are loose? Probably not. If one frame failed, potentially they could all fail in a similar fashion. Or more dramatically.

Since you sort of asked... I earned an engineering degree, worked for a licensed professional engineer for four years as required to be granted my own license. I did the coursework, took the exam and was granted a license that stated anything I put my name on was going to work, be safe, and conform to accepted engineering standards. I worked on process systems that are inherently dangerous if things go wrong. It's like being the guy who fires artillery. Every time you pull the lanyard, you put your stripes on the line. I found the work interesting but corporate life tedious. So changed careers and signed up to keep our country safe. I was pretty good at it. I think because I was trained to recognize and think through problems instead of reacting. Anticipating what might go wrong.

We can agree on one thing. All materials fail. What happens when they fail is where science and physics trumps opinions and wishes.
Blah blah blah 🤣

I think @James Moore will attest to the fact that the rails were/are VERY snug going in, I'd even call them tight
Yes, I even mentioned, they're tight enough for the firearm to function just by taping the caps on. Not that I would try it, but I'm sure that as long as you replaced the tape constantly, several thousand rounds could be fired through it without a failure.

I'll bet you have tape on your glasses too.

Everything works until it doesn't.

I got a new billet block for the DaggerWolf TWC1 and swapped a bunch of parts around between the various Lone Wolf frames. Put some new SS pins I had in stock into the DW and used the DW pins for the TWC3 (not shown-looks exactly like the LW pic above). TWC3 got the PSA DLC slide and GPT from the FW. I might do a write-up on the GPT after I get the trigger weight down. There may be some polishing and a 3.5 connector in its future. I think it is at 5.5lbs now. The DW is still sitting at a smooth 3.5lbs. :)

The billet block is on the right, the original is on the left. I'm not seeing a ton of difference but for another $5 I got a billet off debay for $40. A little pricey IMO but it is not a "common" block and is all I needed to get another gun functional with a little parts swapping. :)

FW got the LW trigger parts back from the original kit that came with it that had been smoothed and tweaked with a 3.5lb connector. The Shitmos .40 slide I got stuck with from JusSuknDic Supply seems to be bench functioning on the FW frame. I swapped in the .40 ejector that came with the LW frame kit. I put an "extra" SS PSA RSA in it since the second RSA JSD sent me (both plastic) was also binding. Some 2010 reloads I got from an estate sale. Those will get burned in it and maybe another box/50. Then we'll see how the rails are doing... :devilish: Still leaning towards the LATSOAC option... :D

I'm not one to flame unnecessarily but every time I look at this Shitmos (Patmos Judah) slide I get angry that I got fucked and if I can save anyone from getting fucked with a Patmos slide or shit product from JSD it will have been worth it. If you do a search you can find my post on it.

Like the absolute GARBAGE plastic sights they put on it. Which reminds me I'll have to put some cheapie ebay aluminum sights on it that I have in stock. These plastic ones, namely the rear, DO SLIDE OFF during firing. Durkin also sold me some similar garbage sights not even worth mounting. Companies are doing customers a disservice by selling or including this junk on their guns...

I have done extensive testing with the Freedom Wolf frame using my G44 slide. I ran through 500 rounds as fast as I could doing mag dumps. The barrel and slide were too hot to touch and nothing happened to the rails. Granted that was with a 22lr slide. But the rails and glue have held up just fine. I have probable close to 10,000 rounds through that build.

For an example, I stopped counting the number of rounds fired through my factory Glock G44 after reaching 20,000 rounds.

Mystery .40 reloads and a shitty slide with the super glue frame. You are livin' on the edge, @Bobster. 🫣 The price tag on that bag of ammo caught my eye.
