What ya listening to?

An older guy who mentored me in my early "gubbament" days did an impression of Ethel singing this song. That always cracked me up. He referred to the work we did as "Show Biz". When I would bitch about the insufferable government bureaucracy he would talk me off the ledge by dramatically singing a few bars of There's No Business Like Show Business. He was a honest, ethical, smart, and dedicated public servant. A species that I think has gone extinct. Replaced by people who have it backwards. In short... Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.

My grandparents also loved Ethel Merman. They attended her show in Las Vegas. I had no idea who she was.
I learned about her from the movie Airplane!

The same former GF I mentioned in another post that did the "Natasha" Russian Accent, also did an amazing (and somewhat scary) impression of Ethyl. wow....

On the other hand... my first wife had an Irish brogue. When I hear someone with that accent I immediately walk away because it grates on me. Reminds me of my ex and even worse... her mother. Who was totally nuts and looked like a barn owl.

So, you never got her to brush her hair with buttered toast?

Nah. Thats reserved for my dream girl Greta. Sure , there’s a big age difference. But I just can’t resist that moon-faced pixie. If I could only be a comb in that marinated coiffure

You might have to fight for her against this alpha!

My ex, whose fam was well connected in Manhattan, drags me to a fundraiser she helped organize. After meandering while she rubbed elbows and twisted arms, I go back to her and advise her I need to leave because there's easily a kilo of coke at this party and I cannot be here if the DEA kicks the door in. She told me not to worry because the mayor was arriving soon.

At some of the gatherings she was involved with there were often celebrities. I was out of town for one Debbie Harry attended. One of my most regrettable missed opportunities. She was still looking hot in the 90's.

I try to like ALL genres of music. From Classical to Country and Rap to Rock. I used to keep the radio on NPR and classical until the local channel went to a news format and stuffed the classical on a Digital Radio channel. Who the fuck has a digital radio?

I refuse or turn off Sirius in every vehicle that has it. Biggest scam going.

Car makers often tie the Sirius service to other functions related to the car. Nope. Not doing it. I am channeling Enzo Ferrari. I dont want a fucking entertainment system in my car. No radio, no music. Unfortunately you cant delete the system. But I will not subscribe.

The dealers say... Jeez it's free for a year. I dont care. Don't want it. Jeep does this and it pisses me off. It's the only complaint I have had about the vehicle. Lots of the services Jeep provides are bundled with Sirius.
