Yeah, that watch would be worth some serious money today.
The Rolex market (especially certain models) has gone berserk in the last few years. You can't even go to a dealer and buy one today. Literally. You cannot walk into an authorized dealer and buy a Submariner... or a Daytona... or an Explorer... or a Sea Dweller... or a GMT-Master, or even a Yachtmaster. The display cases are EMPTY. If they have one, it's marked as "For Exhibition Only." No shit. No amount of money will get you one.
You have to be put on a waiting list. And whether you're REALLY "on the list" depends on whether you're a repeat customer.
OR... You can go to the gray market to get one and pay at least double or triple or even quadruple the retail price.
