The House passed the budget with the HPA!

Funny you mention those, I have a fake/demo Gemtech Halo that I got for fun years ago just to see how it'd attach. I like the QD muzzle brakes/hiders much better. Not that I'd want to try to make it work, looking at it there didn't appear to be a way to do so.
MPA once included them with their semi-auto MAC10 replicas. I vaguely recall some Scorpion models also came with a fake suppressor. I don't get the whole idea of fake suppressors. Mall ninja-esque, pointless accessorizing. Like bolting a spoiler on a Smart Car.

In the case of MPA, the design of the gun is so heavy and awkward that the 'fake suppressor' serves as a handgrip. Ironically, the fake can is solid steel and heavy as Hell. You need a grip like a gorilla to shoot one of these anvils and stay on target.

All the various quick release/attachment designs for cans are of little interest to me. In most cases I use a suppressor on a pistol. Most have a piston/Neilson device, a couple of the more modern cans dont need it. Even on a Glock or Glock clone. My preference for shooting a handgun with a can is the 1911. You dont get the blowback in your face like with most striker guns. The 45 ACP is also inherently subsonic, so using a can on a 1911 is pretty close to Hollywood quiet. Pfft pfft.

I had a baffle strike on a can I used on an AK. The quick release, which was designed for the AAC suppressor, didnt do its job. The can worked itself loose under rapid fire. The silencer was a sealed unit, so factory repair was the only option. The new owners of AAC refused to repair or replace it. They told me they don't honor the warranty or guarantee the products made when Remington owned AAC. That really pissed me off. 1200 bucks down the shit drain.

In my buying spree for suppressors I didn't get one in .45 .
I want one for the 1911 with the capability to use it for
10mm/40 S&W. Might start looking if this passes.

FWIW IF you get a .22 can and use it on an M-16 with a
.22 LR kit be sure and use anti seize so the solder buildup
doesn't freeze up your end caps on the can. I was having
to much fun burning up the Federal 550 Round bulk packs
that Walmart used to peddle for $10.00 a pack until one of
the regulars at Subguns (when Tom Bowers was still the owner)
warned me about it. I just about had a problem.

The other problem was solder plugging the gas block. That's
what the discussion on Subguns started out as but a couple
.223 30 round mag dumps got rid of that problem before I had
blocked the gas block on the 16. I don't do stupid shit like
that any more.

Sorry for the thread drift.

The latest on the BBB is that the Senate Parlimentarian is invoking the Byrd Rule which will involve "Byrd Droppings" (yes, they call them that) to severely trim the pork from the bill. Look for the suppressor portion of the bill to be dropped. :(

The SP was appointed by Harry Reid (D-NV) who is looking up from Hell and smiling. Thune and Vance can shitcan the SP, so hopefully that will happen before any damage is done... 🙏 Snip below is from Politico, who are already wringing their hands and knashing their teeth!

This NFA crap needs to stop once and for all, regarding suppressors.

That's what I've been expecting. I'll be SHOCKED if suppressors and / or SBRs get taken out of the NFA.

It's rare for govt to release/give-back something once it's taken or relinquished. (usually, TAKEN)
I'd love to see if POTUS himself gets involved in this and it wouldn't surprise me if he does. shrugs.

I suggest you'all contact your US Senators and tell them to pressure Thune to replace the Palimentarian or to step down immediately. You can also contact Thune and tell him he is a CUNT for being a squishy...

Watch Video for update.
CALL THUNE's office today.
Now. They are working over the weekend. Leave a message, email, or write on social networks. They will want to push this bill on Monday or Tuesday. Trump will ball bust them this weekend as he said he's staying in Washington. We have changed their minds about this before by badgering them.

Attempting to leave a message with VP's office would be helpful too. Vance can act and override the parliamentarian. Twitter/X and other social networks will help too. Badger them all.

Thune's number:
(202) 224-2321

And a list of all Senator's below.

I wish I could believe that calling, emailing, etc... would make a difference. The reality is that it does not. I've tried it many times before, and I realized I'm wasting my time.

Suppressors and short barrels are NEVER coming off the NFA. And that's why I'm not ever getting any of that stuff, because I'm not willing to register it. It sucks, but it is what it is, as they say. I can live without a suppressor or an SBR.

Never. Gonna. Happen.

So, does this mean that they're proposing suppressors and SBRs remain as NFA items (registered), but that the fee is simply now $0?
Yep, that's exactly what it means. They can pass this crap and pretend they're doing a great job for the 2nd amendment.
What a joke. It's never been about the $200 tax.

BINGO. I don't care about the $200. Though, a Right shouldn't be taxed. I care about the registry and begging permission. I also care about the false premise of "public safety."

So, it's STILL not being treated or recognized as a RIGHT.

I will not own any NFA item as long as I am required to be in an official registry.

I’m with you on that. I’ll wear ear protection when needed and as long as braces are legal (legal in my state) I’ll opt for a pistol.

I fucking hate AR pistols. Loud as fuck on the range shooting line. HATE. THEM. I think they're stupid, too.

😋

I also don't get "braces" other than as actual forearm braces as designed. As a shoulder stock, they absolutely suck. So, I don't get the attraction or utility.
