WOTD (watch of the day) Thread. Post yours!

WOTD: Casio "Duro." Perhaps the best value in the watch world @$50.

Nice!
I picked this one up because I came down with Bi-lateral pnemonia in Texas a while back. O2 level was bad...like in the 70s. Between that and my refusal for medical aid until the last second made it a close call.

Tried to Find an app, or watch or anything besides the finger squisher to keep an eye on the O2 level. This was 1 of very few choices so I grabbed it. It also does BP, heart rate, all the fit bit exercise goodies. Acts as a shutter for remote pics. Phone calls, texts. My favorite is the "Find Phone"
Button....which came in handy today when I used my phone to find my watch!

Also does a sleep analysis. How much rem, deep sleep, trips to the bathroom etc.

This is a special G-Shock "square." Carbon fiber and titanium bits. Had to import from Japan.

It weighs only 44 grams!

The G-Shock is such a classic. I remember getting smashed on the face of it with a crow bar full force. Thought my wrist was broken. Picked up the watch from the ground as an after thought, I knew it was destroyed beyond repair...nope..not even a scratch on it!! Just for the hell of it I looked up how many have been sold since inception. 100 million!!

Picked up one of the new Galaxy fold phones that opens up to the size of a small tablet. They threw in this watch, which has the option of controlling the TV, and whatever else. also threw in a 12 inch tablet...something tells me I paid too much for the phone.

Designed by geniuses, made by slaves with tiny fingers.

It's also a cell phone.

Wore it again today. Love the glistening of carbon fiber in the sunlight!

One of my favorites... Bulova Sea King. Quite the handsome devil, IMO. The watch is nice, too!

With a 262 kHz quartz movement, the second hand sweep is smoother than my Rolex. And accuracy runs <+4 sec / YEAR. Yes... under 4 seconds per year.

Yea I got my eye on that one. Can't decide between the one you have, or the all black one, or the titanium....definitely need to add that to my collection. Thing looks massive!!!

It is a beast. The black one looks cool (and is a chronograph version). Titanium? I've not seen such a thing. I believe the Sea King model line was discontinued some time ago... but there are NOS available out there. The price continues to go UP, though.

I don't wear a watch. My last one back in the 1980's didn't have any numbers on it (gift from my girlfriend/wife/ex-wife.)

But, I do like mechanical clocks. Just something calming about watching the mechanism at work. Probably why I also like steam locomotives.

Ahem... one of my "watches": Kieninger KSU cable driven, triple chime in a cherry case I built over two months in 2010 (little sanity project after my soon to be ex was throw out of the house.) It made the move from Florida and is still chugging away up in the living room. Someday I'll get some cut glass made for it to replace the temporary (gee, almost permanent now) plexiglass.

I made an offer at $800. I'd go higher but it's been an expensive month. Bought my wife a 5k painting at the art show, just paid for a 2 week Mexican Rivierra cruise for Christmas, and New Year. And bought my wife a 3.23 carot diamond ring for her b-day. That's on top of my alloted 5k per month gun budget, so I need to just chill for a month or 2, but that Bulava titanium? I'll make an exception for that.
And I'm blaming you on that one anyway...

Oh yeah that's sweet. Totally agree about the calming effect of watching it. The only thing better than watching it, is resetting the counterweight ie winding it. That is a beauty my brotha!

That's the automatic Sea King. A rare one.

Easy reader w/ Barton silicon band. I bought it right before hurricane Ida a few years ago. It's the first watch I bought since 1997ish.

I hated the strap it came with so it was bought with the intention of replacing it. I wanted black numberals, white face, day and date. There's a lot of Casio options but I can't stand the 13-24 numberals on a watch face.

Yep. A good / better strap can totally change a watch.
