Falls in the pool, sinks to the bottom...My Bulova Sea King (aka "the beast") weighs in at 154 grams or 5.4 ounces! So, about 1/3-lb!

Yea I got my eye on that one. Can't decide between the one you have, or the all black one, or the titanium....definitely need to add that to my collection. Thing looks massive!!!One of my favorites... Bulova Sea King. Quite the handsome devil, IMO. The watch is nice, too!
With a 262 kHz quartz movement, the second hand sweep is smoother than my Rolex. And accuracy runs <+4 sec / YEAR. Yes... under 4 seconds per year.

Bulova Sea King Review - The Truth About Watches
The Bulova Sea King is big in all the right ways. It's built like a tank but made for a king. Worth getting just for the second hand sweep!thetruthaboutwatches.com
It is a beast. The black one looks cool (and is a chronograph version). Titanium? I've not seen such a thing. I believe the Sea King model line was discontinued some time ago... but there are NOS available out there. The price continues to go UP, though.Yea I got my eye on that one. I made an offer at $800. I'd go higher but it's been an expensive month. Bought my wife a 5k painting at the art show, just paid for a 2 week Mexican Rivierra cruise for Christmas, and New Year. And bought my wife a 3.23 carot diamond ring for her b-day. That's on top of my alloted 5k per month gun budget, so I need to just chill for a month or 2, but that Bulava titanium? I'll make an exception for that.It is a beast. The black one looks cool (and is a chronograph version). Titanium? I've not seen such a thing. Oh yeah that's sweet. Totally agree about the calming effect of watching it. The only thing better than watching it, is resetting the counterweight ie winding it. That is a beauty my brotha!I don't wear a watch. My last one back in the 1980's didn't have any numbers on it (gift from my girlfriend/wife/ex-wife.)
But, I do like mechanical clocks. Just something calming about watching the mechanism at work. Probably why I also like steam locomotives.
Ahem... one of my "watches": Kieninger KSU cable driven, triple chime in a cherry case I built over two months in 2010 (little sanity project after my soon to be ex was throw out of the house.) It made the move from Florida and is still chugging away up in the living room. Someday I'll get some cut glass made for it to replace the temporary (gee, almost permanent now) plexiglass.

That's the automatic Sea King. A rare one.I made an offer at $800. I'd go higher but it's been an expensive month. And I'm blaming you on that one anyway...

Yep. A good / better strap can totally change a watch.Easy reader w/ Barton silicon band. I bought it right before hurricane Ida a few years ago. It's the first watch I bought since 1997ish.
I hated the strap it came with so it was bought with the intention of replacing it. I wanted black numberals, white face, day and date. There's a lot of Casio options but I can't stand the 13-24 numberals on a watchView attachment 15586 face.
